What teams will be making up the numbers?

This is the time for a lot of nerves and some sweeping generalisations. Last year, you'll recall, there was a time when all the interstate teams were the top six.

Who do you think the two Melbourne teams most likely to be in the 8 will be?

What non Victorian teams are most likely to not be in the 8?

Should we embrace the Cats as a non-Melbourne team or shun them as just another Victorian club?

    My guesses are:
    Hawks and Saints in 8
Weagles and Crows out of 8

    IMO not a chance

3 vic teams in 8: saints, pies, bombers
1 non-vic team out of 8: crows (still dangerous however)

Hawthorn WON'T make the finals. The have lost a 40 goal forward in Rawlings and are now relying on Barker and Holland to stay injury free and kick winning scores at the same time. Their defence is good but injuries right though the entire list has hurt and they will stuggle to make the 8, though between 9th and 12th is where they will finish.
      Once was, now elsewhere

what he said, although I have a sneaking suspicion Port may go right off the rails. Freo and WCE are way too talented not to make the 8.

For those people ignorant of the history of AFL/VFL, Geelong has always been seen as a Melbourne team, and never as an outsider or "another Victorian Team".

Geelong has an enormous number of people in Melbourne who barrack for them. Probably as many paid up members as live in Geelong, which these days it could be argued is but a suburb of Melbourne.

Agree with Nico. Geelong are just one of them.

Agree with Penga. His top eight is my top eight.

Matey, it was because of them that we were sent to Sydney in the first place. It was to save the league they think belongs to them.

It was because of them that we were sold. They were promised our profits. That's right, each Victorian club was going to get 5% from our earnings.

After we helped start the league, they each received a lump sum when we were forced to pay for a place in our league.

They are the ones trying to scapegoat us for their failings.

                We owe them nothing.

                Aren't italics fun?

I am laying Saints to disappoint. When they travel and when they play teams coached by the better tacticians they will lose IMO.

They had to be the worst organised team at the SCG last year when we played them, they were APPALLING.....

Cornfklakes is not a first grade coach and even with all those first round draft picks I believe they will be nothing special.

And guess what, despite having the touchy feely twosome (Butterss and Thomas) doesn't this problem with Montagna and Milne throw up the spectre of the ol' Sainters probs? And remember Lawrence and Gehrig's car crash, Lawrence sacked but Fraser remains unscathed!

PS Dogs Blues North Geelong Adelaide to miss and Demons for spoon.

that was due to lawrence driving at the time of being drunk, rather than being a passenger in a car crash when drunk...

Yes, and one being a required player...one sacked - one no action, one now regarded as a member of the leadership group!
                      Good management do you reckon?
