    Coach: "I've got nothing"

Sydney is a harbour-based city in shock today after Swans coach Paul Roos admitted he had no idea how to beat the reigning premier, Brisbane, in Round One, this weekend.

"I've got nothing," Roos told The Bladder. "I mean, really ? what can I try that hasn't been tried before? Brisbane is good in the ruck, has a gun midfield, guys like Brown and Lynch up forward and a tight defence. I'm clueless as to how to unlock that combination."

Roos pointed out that League footy has now been played for well over 100 years. "Everything that could be tried has been tried at some point. There are no new ideas. Leigh Matthews will know more or less any card I could have up my sleeve as a coach. I'm thinking of just telling my boys to turn up and have fun on the day.

"Maybe I'll just let them try whatever they reckon, depending on who their individual opponent is?"

Roos admitted that he could try something totally out of the box, like a one-man forward line to give bustling spearhead Barry Hall a one-out chance against his opponent. "But it will probably be Leppitsch at full back, and Matthews knows that he can match Bazza for strength, so what's the point?" the Swans coach rued.

Roos ended the interview by listlessly looking out the window of his office at the SCG.

The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.

The problem (or the irony) with that joke was, we've actually beaten Brisbane twice last year!

On second thoughts that article is exactly what we want Leigh Matthews to think
        .
