soccer style terrace at home games

Hey all.... I have been a swans/bloods supporter for as long as i can remeber....and finally thought i should hook up to this site...

At future home games I would love it we could have a special area for all the lads etc but just no kids... A section where we can drink and swear have a laugh and hurl abuse if we want and not worry offending anyone next to us. And get some proper songs and chants going to really get a better and louder atmosphere, more like soccer style support in europe etc etc... I know we already have a area similar to this behind the goals but to be honest it is a bit geeky and does not apeal to many people i know.

    what do you guys think

    Welcome to the site.

It won't happen. It's simply not the image that the AFL or the Swans have been working towards cultivating in the last 10 years.

BTW - you'll cop some heat from a certain 'geek' behind the goals when he gets home from Brisbane...
    We hate Anthony Rocca
    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar
    But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

ahhh, rise of the drunken, foul-mouthed louts club. To be honest, Im not sure I would support that if I saw it happen at the home games. I get enough of it with opposition supporters - theres always at least one guy close to where I sit who has anger management issues. Im hoping for a change of scenery with my new seats in Bay 29 this year.

Mate, I'd be all for it buddy. As a soccer fan I love to use my crreativity and taunt opposition fans with witty songs and barbs. But alas in the official organ of support for the Swans, the Cheer Squad, you can't even drink any more. And with more grounds being all-seater, Grog Squads such as Carlton and Richmond's are harder to organise.

The best we can do is what we have now. I bring a drum for matches at Stadium Australia, which helps get the chanting all co-ordinated. I'd love to have the Irish supporters and 'grogs' seated behind the Cheer Squad. Sydney has Sava and his small clique, but we never have really had our own Grog Squad.

The atmosphere in Brisbane last night was top knotch. The WHOLE GROUND chanting, and deafening roars when they kicked their goals in the last quarter. But had we had our own grog squad, there would definitely have been a brawl behind the goals list night. The Brisbane fans were unpleasant to the extreme, chucking ice at us all nice.

Do you follow Northern Spirit or Glasgow Rangers by any chance mate?
