Schneider would be ideal.
    i agree to an extent:

IMO oloughlin's best asset is his ability to read the ball off a pack, ie crumbing... but, due to his size he draws a larger opponent, so once the ball hits the deck, he ducks and weaves and creates... without a target at FF, he has to lead; with a taller option forward, in this case doyle, he can become a pocket player

i would also have schneider in the pocket, but he will be impact at best, he would start from the banch... i put saddington on the forward line, however, as i stated in the previous post, i would push saddington in the middle to take pavlich, but i wouldnt start him in the middle...

    do u agree?

medhurst's strength is very underrated and he is too strong for leo, as shown in previous games, thats where i thought rogers would need to be included

it is hard to select a team this week, due to matchups, and if sandilands wasnt playing, i wouldnt play doyle
    C'mon Chels!

After two ressies games scoring 5 goals in each I reckon Doyle deservers a go. The reason I think of holding him back is if he stayed in the goal square and didn't run much....a possibility given his reach.

if he was sitted at FF in the two ressies then he is not fit to play ruck right now. I would think, if we select Doyle to counter Sandilands, he needs to ruck. If he is in NOT the condition to do so, it is better to leave him in the ressies for another couple of games.

And yes, penga. I do agree. O'Loughlin works best for the period after the ball splits the pack. His magic is the telling difference when things are in a muddy condition. My worry is that once the defence gets hold of the ball, we lack players in the forward who could apply some pressure.

With the smallish size of the SCG, we could move Hall back to full forward anyway and play Micky off him. We need good small players more than good tall players at the SCG, I would have thought. Even as an impact player, Schneider would be more than a handful for them.

The space at the SCG is premier so if Doyle is to take a mark, he likely will need to crash through a pack full of players.
I dont want Doyle to do that. Not yet anyway, first comeback game too, given his prior experiences. We must be aware that so far Doyle has only played two games this year. In Brisbane, Ball already had two games under his belt and he was still way short of match fitness. Most players start round-one with between 3-4 pre-seaon games and an non-interrupted preparation. Better to err on the conservative side in Doyle's case.

The bigger they are the harder they fall, but do we have the kind of rucks that will ruffle the fethers of this fremantle stork?

As someone said in another thread, why try and match up with a team, surely it is better to field a side that is difficult for the opposition to match up on. In this case, dont just play talls coz freo have lots, we should play to our strength which is our speed. Let their tall guys try and keep up with our speedsters
