On the Wenesday prior to the first round clash with the Brisbane Lions Tadhg Kennelly suffered a knee injury which threatened his season, a few days earlier, in the opening round of the V8 Supercar Championship Orrcon Racing driver Mark Winterbottom was looking at a severely damaged Falcon, his season might not have been on the line but all the same he was behind the eight-ball.

Both Kennelly and Winterbottom have been racing the clock in preparation for this weekend with Kennelly now set to make a remarkable recovery and run out for the Swans against Fremantle.

Mark Winterbottom's Larkham Motor Sport crew have also been racing the clock to get his Orrcon Ford be back on the track and this morning he'll be out for qualifying at Eastern Creek in preparation for Sunday's round 2 of the V8 Supercars.

Yesterday the pair compared their remarkable recoveries at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

"I certainly feared the worst at the time and even in the best case scenario I thought it would be three weeks before I returned so to be back after just a week is incredible," Kennelly said.
