Geelong - % booster or tough assignment?

Does anyone know who the Cats might be getting back from injury for this Saturday night?

The Cats have been stung heavily from within and also by the media after yesterday's loss. BTW, does anyone know when the Blues last recorded such a large win? 2001?

Do we see this turning out to be a percentage booster or will Geelong come out and a make a huge game of it?

Personally, given the Cats woweful form and our good home record, I would be disappointed if we don't nail them to the wall and steal a dozen plus goals.

To be honest, I am happy to win any game by a kick.

The Cats will be playing for their lives. Now word on their injured stars, but this game is no gimme, although we would be expected to win.

Ben Graham
Darren Milburn

Brenton Sanderson
Gary Ablett
David Loats
Steve Johnson

arguably all in their best 22. I would expect many of these guys to be back.

In fact not a single Geelong player had 100 games to his name yesterday.

also IMO, the game needs to focus around our midfielders and small forwards kicking goals, if any of the big men get a couple it should be treated as a bonus

King won't be back and I doubt Ablett will be either. Not sure about the status of the rest but even if they are, shouldn't be a problem.

I don't believe the Cats can win this game but the Swans (any team, for that matter) are capable of losing it. Reeks a bit of the St Kilda game a couple of years ago. However, I'm confident that the Swans of 2004 are mentally stronger than the 2002 vintage and they know how to do just enough to win - and hopefully a lot more.

I heard their president Frank Costa being interviewed on Melb radio this morning and he hinted that maybe one player being back


As for whether its a % booster you can expect Geelong to come out hard as they are copping alot of media attention down here. The other factor to consider is that we dont often bury sides - we had a chance to beat Freo by 50+ on Sunday but let them get some late quarter goals.

Still we should dominate the centre clearances so I would be hoping for a 8-10 goal win. Any more than that is an absolute bonus

The Cats do have one thing going for them, an assistant coach going by the name of D. Cresswell. He would surely have some great insight in how to tackle the Swans.

I think inside, everyones pretty confident that we'll win. But the thing is, we are so confident that if we dont win by a big margin, we'll be disappointed. So lets not get ahead with ourselves and just go for the win at this stage.

There is no doubt Bomber will be relying on that insider knowledge, however:

I'd suggest that Malaxos would have a far greater idea of Roos' likely thinking during a game then Cressa, but it didn't help the Dockers.

This 'inside knowledge' that gets trotted out by the media everytime a former player/coach comes up against their former side is overated garbage.

In general I agree, though I have a sneaking suspicion that George Stone had a fair input into the Hawks making our midfield look so ordinary twice last year.

Isn't this the 3rd season since he left.
