The Sydney Swans Reserves have been crowned premiers of the pre-season competition after beating Queanbeyan by 55 points at the SCG on Sunday afternoon.

The Swans? ten goal to three first half set up the win and although Queanbeyan kicked five goals in the second half it was not enough to subdue the Swans? goal kickers.

McGlone kicked three goals in the second half to help the Swans to victory. Buchanan, Ericksen and Willoughby also chipped in.

Doyle stood up again, to be one of the Swans? best, after a five goal haul last week.

On Saturday the Swans Reserves will play the Weston Creek Lions at 3.50pm at the SCG, as the curtain raiser to the Sydney Swans v Geelong game at 7.10pm.

    Scores:

    Sydney Swans ? 5.1(31) 10.4(64) 13.6(84) 17.6(108)
    Queanbeyan - 2.3(15) 3.4(22) 6.5(41) 8.5(53)

    Goals:
McGlone, Potter 3, Schmidt, Hayes, Dempster, Buchanan 2, Willoughby, Ericksen, Boussis 1.

    Best:
Doyle, McGlone, Willoughby, Dempster, Buchanan, Thewlis, Schmidt.

OK BBB where's that report you promised me on my love child.

Notice he got amongst the goal kickers, and best players, but how'd he really go.

Where did they play him for most of the game.

        Sean Dempster.

Was wrapped when we picked him up last year, and fromthe few reports I get of him, I think he can be something.

Just thank the lord he aint got his dads build, but if he can take a grab as good as his dad, with his athleticism, he could just about play anywhere

          Interesting to see McGlone starring.

With two seniors out for the season, he might be staking his claim for promotion?

There is a hell of a lot riding on this kid being a success.

If he turns out to be a dual premiership captain and 300 game player, then the decision to send Terry Danniher to S&Don instead of Graham Dempster will look inspired IIRC.

My love-child did not rate a mention (Powell)

Good to see Doyle listed in the best without kicking goals. Must have played in the ruck instead of perched at FF. Any confirmations?

Never thought of it this way!

Somehow I don't think the decision makers at the time did either, however anything to get some rational reason for the TD transfer will do me I guess

He was OK Doctor, but he is just one of those players who never seem to star, but rarely stuff up. He is just a solid reliable type, not that that's a bad thing, but doesn't seem to have a lot of flair.

He didn't play exclusively down back, Rogers played fullback, but drifted about a fair bit through the backline and drifted forward on the odd occasion.

And Reggi, I said Powell was just about our best in the original thread. The clown who did the 'bests' for the ressies must have been the same peanut who couldn't find a place for Crouch in the 'bests' for the ones.

Yeah, Bevan was good for a young kid, but naming him in the best?

They are often done by Peanuts, many of the Melb papers HS I think gave Crouch BOG (deservedly so sensational game).

I see there is a reserves game this weekend.

we play our first match of the season proper this weekend as the curtain raiser.

I'm going to try and report the reserves matches for everyone who can't make them, so this will be the first one I look at.

BBB you seem to be at most of their matches too, perhaps I can enlist your help or opinion from time to time?

Fingers crossed it goes well, it's the first time I will try my hand at this sort of thing.
