With the weather suddenly getting cold over the last couple of days, I can see a drop in crowds. If there is rain, expect a further drop.

Still what other club would be unhappy with a crowd of 24-28000 on a cold night with live TV?

I was chatting to a really nice bloke up from Freo Cheer Squad on Sunday (I actually booked his accommodation for the Swans-Freo final that never was back in August. ) He was at the Easter Show on the day of the Penrith-Roosters Grand Final re-match. He just could not believe how they were dishing out freebie tickets in their thousands to watch a Grand Final re-match. Rightly, he said that in Melbourne you'd not be able to get a ticket to such a contest. The crowd that night, 26000.

No wonder Melbourne people laugh at Sydney's sporting culture.

My crowd for Saturday, 22745 if wet. And 25879 if dry. The bandwagon has not arrived yet. And may not until the media see how well we are playing.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

What actually was the final crowd? I'd gather to say 27-28k odd.

25,451. I thought it looked more than that.

All things considered it is very very different.

I think AFL still gets short shrift in Sydney, especially from the newspapers.

In Melb now with SEN, 3AW and antionally Foxfooty, AFL is on basically 24/7. As soon as you get to Sydney it's a dead set blackout

Sad that AFL supporters in Sydney miss out on the pre-match build up of the type you get on 3AW, not that I listen that often, but nice too know it's their.

The bandwagen is a bit over-rated year support goes up and down, does with all clubs.

Newspaper coverage is poor I mean how can you tell if your side won or not unless you can read how many rebound 50s Leo Barry got?

Players stats must at least be mandatory.
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Don't really agree - I would love to have what the Melbourne media or any of the southern or western states have, but it just isn't going to happen when you only have one team in this City.

There is a lot of other things going on sports wise in this city and considering we are basically sitting at Number 3 as a sport in Sydney, we don't do that bad really in the papers or on Tele.

Ditto - it was hard to see where they'd squeeze another 20,000 in to reach a full house.

The GA seemed to be packed as a result of lots of drunks from the races. Glad they came along!

Yeah, the drunks at the back were going off but dont think they knew what exactly was happening. My friend told me I was attracting a lot of attention too.
