Bazza would like to be captain

On TEN news tonight Bazza said that he would like to be captain at some stage.

(but I imagine most players would say that if aksed the direct question)

Bazza also said his mum doesn't like him being called BBBH

the item was about his anger management improvements - I'm sure it will be repeated on 'sports tonight' later

I reckon he's leadership material. Don't know about Captaincy just at this stage.

To which they showed footage of him jostling vigorously with Mal Michael a couple of weeks ago!

I think Baz would make a great captain. Sydney have this knack of softening up old St Kilda rough heads.....

Baz has a touch of the Roy Keane's about him. Would make a great captain. (less RK's suspensions of course)

Love Baz, just can't see him as captain for some reason.

Not sure he will ever have the chance anyway.

Isn't there a gent by the name of Mr. A. Goodes being touted as the next most obvious?

Love Baz, Love Goodesy, but it's Jude (BSMBH) Bolton FSC.

                No doubt about it.

                  What about Willo?

As much as it is admirable for BBBH to think out loud about being captain, I still have huge problems with his ability to keep cool under pressure.

Under the motto of "a leopard never changes its spots", Barry wil not only be a continual target. But will snap when the pressure gets too much.

We have spent years having a captain who was only on the field 50% of the time. In the first year this wasn't the case, our team seemingly improved overnight.

As much as Barry says he has gotten his skitzo spells under control, I think he is way too much of a risk to be captain.

What about Willo for captain after Stewie calls it a day? Or Schaubs? Or even Tadgh as a bolter?

Love Willo too (OK, if they're a swan, I'm pretty sure to love them, although I still harbour black thoughts about Ben Mathews, but I have a different perspective to him), BUT, he is getting a tad old.

                    Still think it's JB FSC.

Criteria for a captain. 1.Leader of men. 2.Example on and off field. Best 1 AG. Best 2 JC (the little guy, not the big one), JB. Feel any would be great. Fearless prediction for captain 2008, LRT

I reckon it was probably a close call between Willo and Maxfield last time around, and while he may have been unlucky, I think that was probably Willo's chance.

Sorry to quash your hopes Bron but I reckon Goodes is probably leading the race at the moment - as much as anything because he (along with Bazza) is becoming the "face" of the Swans. Oh, and he can play a bit too.

Crouch and B1 would probably do the job admirably, as would a handful of others, but I think they have some catching up to do.

BoltonJ needs to be more consistent before he can be considered for the captainsy post Stuey.

Goodes might have to much pressure on him if he were to be captain.

Kennelly, I believe is the right choice in about 3 years he will be at his best.

Willo too old, as is Leo Barry Hall.

Other than that there is Crouch, Fossy, Davis who I can't see as being captain of the club.

I think Goodes would have to be clear favourite at the moment. Hes got the runs on the board, so to speak, and he seems like a natural in front of the media.

As much as I'd love for Bazza to be captain, I agree that he is still too volatile at the moment. It wouldnt set a good example to the kids (both players and fans) if the captain were to lose his cool on field.

Wouldnt it be great though, if Jude was made captain. Hes got the looks, so put him together with Roos' charm, and we've got a killer combo!

One of the good things is that there are a number of guys who could do the job and do it well

I agree that Willo probably wont get a chance...if Maxfield stays for another season or two they will probably both be near retirement at the same time.

But Goodes, Hall, Jude, Crouch and even Kennelly could be great skippers. Gives us a very good leadership group to bring up the likes of Schneider, Bevan, Willoughby, Schmidt etc

And a dark horse to me in 2-3 years time is McVeigh. I have a feeling that they will want the next captain to be someone who could be a 5 year plus captain

P.S And wouldnt the headlines be great if they gave Kirky the job
