I know its not the time - but Doyle really looks a player

LRT looks like he can't touch his toes

As I said in my 1st qtr analysis, Doyle is really giving us great value - this is the potential that the club have seen and why they've persevered with him through all the injuries. Lets just hope we can keep himself fit and stay out on the field.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

It was good to see Doyle getting a good run in the ruck.I thought Ball was pretty good again.
LRT played well on Petrie and had some handy posessions.

Must admit that LRT got better as day went by. But too many handballs to players under pressure.

Doyle has very good hands, and is good value in the ruck!

LRT tries his heart out and did have a good game, but again was too slow getting rid of the ball sometimes.

You would think after today both Ablett and LRT will drop out of the side if Magic and Davis come back next week. The question remains though who drops out for Schauble???

Great to see Doyle back playing and while he didn't really play as well as we know he can, he at least got a fair bit of the abll and provided a great marking option coming out of defence. Hopefully he stays clear of injury and keeps on improving and who know we might just have the ruckman we really really want him to be.

I thought Doyle played particularly well and LRT never stops running and competing and is improving his composure but sometimes his skills and decision making let him down. With Doyle sharing ruck duties with Ball we have the luxury of playing Goodes as a forward or ruck rover . What a luxury to have !!!!.

I rated Doyley's game today ahead of those few where he played FF and kicked 3.

He was magnificent in the ruck and moved really well below his knees at times which I was not sure till today that he was even capable of.

Bally was fantastic too in the first half. Roosy seemed to rest him a fair bit after half time but blind Freddy could tell today that out centre clearences were a highlight.

Even LRT was good beyond the skill errors which he HAS to address if he wants a long career is a Paul Roos team. Needs more balance and poise.

I thought this is a master stroke by Roosy. Conventionally, he could let Goodes and Ball to share the ruck duty and play Doyle as mainly a forward. With Goodes has been down on his standard from last year, moving him to another role seems to revigorate(sp?) him. Giving us much better height in the ruck too.

With Saddo moving forward, I believe moving LRT down back is merely a necessity, so I would not credit this success to Roosy, just to be fair to him.

In this game, yes. But LRT is far to Un-Co to play in defense regularly at this point in his development.

I'm sure Roos would be losing sleep over this dilema

I'd like to see LRT given more time at CHB - he was good on Petrie today, and had some good disposals. His confidence will come - he's got a great coach to learn from, especially in that position.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Just as Ball's form was the best news from the Geelong game, the form of Doyle and LRT today augurs very well for the future.

Doyle gave us another little glimpse of what injuries to he and Ball have robbed us of for the past two or three seasons. If they both stay fit until round 26, we will be premiers.

LRT looked much more like a real player today, and well worth his spot in the side. I've had doubts that he would ever make a key defender, but, after today, I suspect I may have to eat my words.

Got to admit, I love the balance LRT gives the side. Can handle up forward or down back, or even ruck if needs be. At the moment, he is a great bench player for us. A real gap filler.

Doyle was great today. So glad Goodes stayed out of the ruck to let Doyle show us what he is made of.
