    Jude Bolton

26 touches today, but plenty of clangers.
Has had a tough season so far.

Plenty of room for improvement here, and he's vital given that he's our only young, inside midfielder.

Yes , but he had plenty of company !
I don't wish to be churlish , but I think we can play even better - we let North off lightly.
Three regulars out , not hit our very best form yet - but still we're in 3rd place .
    Improvements will come.

I wouldnt say he's our ONLY young inside midfielder. McVeigh hasn't been afraid to get to the bottom of packs, and even Bevan is looking like a bit of a tough nut. Not to mention Benny Mathews, who must have been at the bottom of most packs today given his 31 possessions, most of which were invisible IMO. Very Cressa-esque his game was.

But yes, Jude hasnt starred yet, but I think today was his best game this season so far. If he just continues to improve throughout the season we will be fine.

Jude started to fall back into that mode where he is rushing disposal. Need to knock that on the head and fast.

Willo had some good touches but also some uncharacteristic errors.

I don't want to be too negative, but I agree, reckon we could have done them by a 100 today.

IMO Mathews picks up most of his position through HB receives. He's a link man.

McVeigh seems to be able to weave through packs but I haven't seem him under many.

Neither McVeigh nor Bevan are 'there' yet, anyway.

Bolton is vital. Must be consistent.

Whadda they gotta do to satisfy you guys.

My reading of the game early was as soon as Jude started hitting the packs and winning the footy in the middle we instantly got on top.

              Grant looked dangerous early.

In the end Benny killed him
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

I thought Jude was fantastic today, and Mathews keeps on impressing me. I used to question his spot in the team (along with Crouch) but I'm happy that they have both been proving me wrong. Mathews is extremely underrated, I believe. Him and Fosdike are the invisible brothers - I never notice them during a game, but they both manage to rack up the possessions, and are generally effective in how they dispose of them.

But back to the topic, J Bolton continually impresses me with his courage and hardness at the ball (yes, I know it's been said before) and look forward to a big year from him!

                  Absolutely agree Reggi.

Bolton made some some awful clangers (into man approaching) but boy from 15 minutes into first quarter he was incredibly committed. He does not have to ever have a BOG if he is burrowing in and getting the pill out of packs or holding it in etc. then linking up in the midfield. He did an awful lot of hard running today and did a lot of very important link work.

I found being at the game very hard to follow the play when it went to the opposite end of the ground to where I was. We were at goal end near Manuka shops.
The screen at Manuka absolutely crap.
So in saying this couldn't see who had ball who did what.
I will send a note to Channel 9 and Swans re Manuka.
I think swans need to know what a great support, (not that they don't) but how hard it was to follow the play.

So until you see a bad replay from Channel 9 we had no idea who did what - unless you have seen the replay.
                    Love those Swans

After years of being burnt and failing to gety a good possie, I've passed up on going to Canberra for the last few trips, so I've been stuck watching the broadcast.

Yesterday was the best I've seen - in previous years the cameramen have lost track of the ball in flight or have struggled to adjust to the change from shadows to light. I guess the early start helps - no shadows until the last quarter. They also seemed to have a few more camera angles to use. They did miss one goal (Bevan's ?) but that's about par for the course.
