Hey Mr Dawson,
Melbourne are going through what we are going through, and have been through. Melbourne, like us, are one of the original VFL clubs. I know I sound like a pathetic new age drone, but they really need support to stay in the game. Their win over Port was fantastic, and here's to a resurgence of the mighty red and blue, even if it is not over us.
They have no money, no luck, and a die hard membership, so all power to them.

The Canberra Times this weekend had a disgraceful slagging off of Sydney supporters, almost racist in it's tone, that we were all chardonney sipping tossers who earnt millions and went to the Opera. We only cared about our team when we won. As someone who has been there since 94 (crikey, 10 years now) who turned from supporting the Raiders, I was furious.
As someone earning poverty line wages and sometimes enjoys Opera, I thought his generalisations were a disgrace, and have drafted a letter of complaint to the Canberra Times.
Don't slag off other struggling teams supporters. If you have to go anyone, go Esssendon or Collingwood. Help our struggling Melbourne supporter friends through their triumphs, cos if it came down to a Collingwood/Melbourne Grand Final, we all know who we'd be cheering for

I say @@@@ our Melbourne 'friends' and their current crisis.
Melbourne and Carlton were the two clubs who voted against the AFL giving assistance to us, saying we should fold instead.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Yeah but you see the problem with your proposal DPW is that your DUDS wont have a chance this saturday... your team was lucky as @@@@ to win last year on Anzac day.
If you swines up there in sydney really believe any of the Demon steriotype supporter, then you deserve to get a hiding this weekend and after were done with you, then mabey you will see...

No idea what you are on about, Dawson I had a read of some of their game threads re the Swannies and it is well thought out and reasonable and knowledgable about the opposition team. Have you ever tried wading through a Collingwood or Carlton board? That would make you Dream of "pip pip."
And Demonchum you make yourself just look silly when you refer to a team coming from behind to win and scoring ten goals in the last quarter as "lucky."

Just when was it that you guys last beat us. Even when we were relatively @@@@ and you guys made the finals (2002). Last game of the year or thereabouts I seem to remember sitting in the old Ponsford stand watching us give you a good old fashioned towelling. Was repeated again last year the only difference was the Ponsford stand wasn't there.
Melbourne deserve all the crap they have around them at the moment. It is their own doing. How is the merger going. Still waiting for Hawthorn to sign the agreement.
Real passionate lot those Melbourne members, they actually voted their club out of existence. If it weren't for Don Scott there would be no Melbourne.
BTW is your Prez going to be at the game this week or has he got some other major function to attend like the opening of the Kyabram Quilters annual fund raising event. Thats sure to be a hoot!!!!Comment

I was actually quite impressed with most of the debate on the site, definitely one of the better club fan message boards I have seen.
I was also quite impressed with them putting in effort to get behind players at the club such as this , possibly something that fans of all clubs should consider doing? Is ithere something similar available to us from the club (i.e. individual sponsorship?).
92 is constantly on my mind, but more power to them just the same!I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

how some of you can come on here and bag us about a merger that was abandoned 8 years ago is astonishing!! That would be like me coming on here and bagging you guys about how the SCG cant even support a proper feild!! or how a city with more than approx 5 mill population and only one AFL team, can only get 22 000 to their games... sure we got 20 000 to the port game last week, but when you think about it, melbourne has a smaller population and 10 football teams to support...
for the most part on here, you are all good blokes...
