Not only did he need two kicks to get that goal but he alternated feet - first the left, then the right.

Good one, Lizz - I really liked his "if the left doesn't get it the right one will."
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I liked his attack on the ball and the way he moved - first time since I saw him in the reserves in his first season move that well.

I rated him better the Goodes in his first year - we can only hope he can go on like Adam has.....

It's good to see the big guy getting some recognition, Sydney's needed a truly forcefull meat-axe of a ruckman for years - he could make an incredibly complementary ruck partnership with Goodes.

In the broadcast coverage, Dermie passed some comment about his two kicks for that goal to the effect that he was displaying a ruckmans lack of imagination.

Watching the replay he actually looks pretty smart as you realise he varies his kick the second time to give the ball more space to get around the player. Good thinking or great reflexes in a tight situation.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

Doyle is our wildcard to a premiership.

He will be invaluable if he stays fully fit.
