To all those Melbourne haters out there

I have read a lot of negative comments about Melbourne on this board recently and am getting fed up with the anti-Melbourne sentiment! Anti-Melbourners, it is time that you withdrew your heads from your backsides.

It may surprise a handful of you out there, but without Melbourne, this football team would not exist, this site would not exist and whoa, shock, the great game you love to watch and are at this very minute reading about would also not exist.

So get over your Melbourne jealousy. Melbourne people are the most loyal and long serving suppporters this clubs got. We deserve better.
    Go you mighty BLOODBOYS!

    Who hates Melbourne?

Seems to me that the vast majority of fans here do appreciate and are interested in the club's SM heritage. People come up from Melbourne for games, people go down to Melbourne for games.. And I never think of them as Sydneysiders or Melbournites... Just Swans supporters.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

You should get your head out of your backside and READ the thread.

Nobody has been anti-Melbourne at all.

Charlie and Robbie have just had their bi-annual grizzle and we all just defend the club, again, that's all.

I dont know what you are on about bloodboy. The supposed anti-melbourne sentiment may exist with a few supporters, but you will find that the majority of us understand and respect the club's heritage. You may be mistaking the friendly banter as sydney vs melbourne as cities, whereas we are talking about Sydney Swans vs Melbourne Demons.

I wont hide the fact that I dislike every other club apart from my own.

I have no problem with Melbourne. I have lived through a few footy seasons down there myself and it is frustrating not getting to see the boys that much (but it is also great as a footy fan in general because there is a game every weekend to go to... and the rent was cheaper... but I even after a longtime there I would still ask for a schooner after I had a few drinks... and half the time you would get smart-arse bartenders staring blankly at you saying "a what?" and I'd just say "sorry, a pot"... and then mumble about "all the other bartenders in melbourne know what it is" or "NSW isn't that far away"... and then take my pot and sulk because it isn't a schooner, even though I had been happy drinking pots up until then... and then complain that they have 20 taps at the bar with the great variety of vb or carlton draught... and then... and then...).

My issues are with the AFL and development of the code in NSW (and QLD for that matter).

                  Very harsh words bloodboy!
I saw that as another argument why are there so little Swans games in Melbourne, which happens every year , not a Melbourne vs Sydney thing.

I love Melbournians except when they are highly strung, paranoid and riddled with inferiority complexes to Sin City Sydney.

Bloodboy, you have totally missed the point of the debate.

The jumpers now have SMFC written on them on the back - similar to Brisbane and Doggies.
