    which goal was better

    Which goal was better?

Adam Goodes fantastic effort at Maunka oval a couple of weeks ago or Robbie Ahmat's running goal from half back against the Kangaroos at the SCG in 2000?

For me, Goodes by a whisker because of the smother to get the ball in the first place.

    Re: which goal was better

    Ahmat's was astonishing.

He ran from boundary at the Swans defensive fifty and left half a dozen Kangaroo's in his wake.

I remember Bruce's commentary "ONE OF THE GREAT'S OF ALL TIIIMMMME !!!!!!!!"

Interestingly Roosy was sitting next to him in the commentary box, and said "Steady on Bruce, getting a bit carried away"

Roosy was probably referring to the stain in Bruce's pants.

Super goal though. The only blemish was that he fumbled the footy half way through his run, but regathered.

Both great goals for very different reasons - to have to pick one over the other isn't fair to the one you don't choose. So I'll be the diplomat and say both!!!

            Ahmat's by miles

that goal woulda raised the SCG Roof (if it had one)

Goodesy's was a good goal due to the teams' 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc efforts as the ball was continually fumbled and passed poorly to Schneider. It ended up looking like such a great goal because they tried their hardest to turn the ball over all the way up the wing.

              Robbie's solo effort was better.

Still against North Melbourne but Kel's in that great comeback of 1999.

I forgot about that goal of Kel's. I missed that match because I was overseas at the time.

It is probably my favourite goal of all time and glad I was there to see it live. I reckon I would have had an incredible smile on my face at the time. I still get that smile just thinking about it.
