I understand where you are coming from. Our midfield sucked, thats why we lost. But we played our crappy brand of football well enough to give us a chance to win. I still stand by my opinion that the umpires didnt give us a chance to see if we were good enough to "win ugly". When you have commentators, journalists, and even opposition supporters agreeing that the umpiring didnt give us a fair chance at winning, it goes to show you are of a tiny minority who believe we were'nt ****ed over yesterday.

Then we will agree to disagree, and I will fire one more comment all the above mentioned people did'nt say it costed us the game though just costed us a chance. and that I would agree with we could of also just played better football and that would have provided us with just as eqaully good chance of winning.
if the umpires had had their stuff together for the whole game we might've won. if this had been the case we would have won by five points or so. big deal.
if we'd had it together for the entire match, we would've won by 4 or 5 goals. that would have been worthwhile getting our excited over.
on the balance, the loss was more our fault than that of the umpiring group and we can't sit around lamenting 4 points that we didn't absolutely deserve.
roos has every right to submit his concerns to the umpiring committee, but if whinging about the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune becomes our mantra, i am outta here. if i wanted to blame the world for my woes i'd have joined the magpies.
tim
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know
But, that was the most pathetic and worst upiring I have ever seen. It was an absolute disgrace.
Bolton clearly took that mark and it wasn't paid. That was an absolute joke.
I hope Maxfield and Roos publically critisice the umpires regardless of fines. This could have made or broken our season. In footy, momentum is everything.

BIG DEAL? It's still 4 points and would have kept us with the group pulling away in the top 6!!!!!!!!

Agree. Soloman had his back to the play- to even think he could have been awarded a free kick is absurd!
Also, why was Goodes mark not played in our 50 when he used his body to out his opponent when Lloyd can use his HANDS to push players out the way!!!!
WHATTA JOKE!!!!
Black and White Line Fever is going to hear about this! Fox League Teams is going to hear about this! On the Couch is going to hear about this! Hell everyone I talk to is going to hear about this!
Originally posted by SWANSBEST The umpiring is a disgrace. Because of Hird"s criticism the umpires are bending over backwards to help Essendon. to avoid any further complaints.
Best comment I have read on this board. Essendon are made for the rest of the season.
It is clear that Hird's publicity regarding the umpires has paid off in a big way for sheedy's over-rated group. The fine was obviously well worth it:
Under the pressure of making crucial split-second decisions, those weak-minded umpires failed miserably to view both teams in the same unbiased fashion yesterday.
Several game altering decisions made yesterday would see any amateur suburban league D-grade umpire dropped back to the junior ranks, if not simply told that he wasn't cut out to be an umpire at all.
