    Bloody Magot umpires!

I'm glad i wasn't at the MCG yesterday. I might just have been tempted to run onto the field and belt the living daylight out of that scum!
    Absolutely attrocious!
I thought the umpires may just have started to actually improve, but then we get this crap!

I'm so pissed off at those BASTARDS!!!!

NB: sorry if people take offence, i am just very angry, which you probably understand

ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC umpiring!!!! Would all of those decisions or lack of, been made a few weeks ago before Hird started kissing the maggots hairy beanbag?!?! I Doubt it, Goldspink should never be allowed within 300km of another AFL game, did we have J Schmidt doing us again today? He is a joke and we get stuck with him up here a fair bit?

It's a pity that someone can't send a copy of these umpiring threads to the AFL and the director of umpiring. The AFL in particular needs to know that many in the footballing community now realise that Essendon is being given an armchair ride. It wasn't just Saturday, it has been in each game since the Hird business.

Didn't notice anything that was all that catastrophic.

Sometimes it is easier when you have replays to help.

We lost on our own as far as I'm concerned...

Well, I try to be realistic when IU watch the games.

Nothing irks me mor ethan when supporters yell 'ball' when there has clearly been no chance to get rid of the ball.
I find myself thinking that people don't really know the rules.

remember a couple of times I considered us to be lucky to get away with things that I thought should have been penalised, and also did find myself thinking that we got a couple of bad decisions.

But I was in the Olympic stand, and when you're at the game you miss a lot. Especially when the whole game seemed to be played anywhere except at a spot close to where I was sitting lol

I was in the Olympic stand too!!

You certainly don't get a great view from there, but there were a few I saw that looked obvious (needed binoculars though).

Watch the replay and you'll see why we are all worked up about it.

How can you blame the umpiring for the fact we didnt score a goal in the 2nd qtr?

We werent good enough and Roos was out-coached by Sheedy last week Roos was out-coached again. Roos is still a rookie coach and is in a steep learning curve.

Fair enough there were some bad ump decisions but none of them turned this game.

so you reckon we couldnt have won it when we got to within two goals in the last quarter? Im not saying the bad umpiring was the main reason we lost the game - the blame is on the midfield. The bad umpiring cost us a chance to snatch an unlikely victory.

Sorry I can't agree with this, we were on a run, and OK maybe we shouldn't have put ourselves in a place where we needed a run to win the game, but the momentum was with us and the umpires totally screwed up by awarding BAD BAD frees to them in front of their goals.

I agree that for 3 quarters we were not good, but that shouldn't mean that we can't get our act together and win the last quarter, god forbid,we have play a few games like that and be called heros, one against Melbourne last year comes to mind.

Maybe cause we played like ****e for 3 quarters of that game last year we shouldn't have deserved to win, but I don't hear anyone saying that do I.

Very rarely do I get angry with umpires, they have a hard job to do. But yesterday they were plainly WRONG in at least 2 decisions that gave Essendon goals, and what was the margin!!!!!!!!!!

I thought we did very well to come back from where we were, but had we not allowed ourselves to be put in that position in the first place, we may have won.

I thought Roos was outcoached, but against someone like Sheedy, that is not such a damning thing.
To his credit, he eventually made some changes that worked, but it took him a while to find them.
SO I agree that Roos is still a rookie coach to an extent and learning how to effectively make changes to help turn around a game.

                              Di the team play well?
Personally I thought they tried hard.

I will say that Goodsey looked to be a bit bored with what was going on.
No passion in his game on the weekend.
                              Not desperate.

Just what I saw a few times, he could have been busting his arse at other times.
But players will have an off day I guess.
