So far this year, the Swans have played six matches. Five of those matches have been against sides currently in the top 8 (all except St Kilda and Port Adelaide), and after six weeks the Swans have not yet played any side in the bottom six on the ladder.
What I'm saying is not that the Swans have been given an unusually tough draw this year, but that for the Swans to be in the top 8 with 3 wins after playing mostly other top sides is a good achievement.
To put it into perspective, of the current top six the Saints have only played Essendon, the Kangaroos and Brisbane.
The good part of this is during the next nine rounds the Swans only play two current top-8 sides, which should net us a good string of wins. The bad part is the Swans have to play those five top-8 sides again in rounds 16 to 21.
