    Heroes

There was a really nice line in the SMH today that "heroes won't win the war; but you'll lose the war without them."

After a flurry of very negative thoughts on RWO this week I thought it was a sentiment worth noting. After a few weeks (well, two but it seems like more) of indifferent performances let's look on the positives. Several of our main players have gone missing recently but haven't some of the others stepped up well? Pebbles and Schneiderman come to mind. Even Saddo. And look how Bazza has developed - we've taken StK's thug and produced one of the most inspirational players in the competition.

    Who'd have thought it?

I love watching Barry Hall. There's always a feeling when he gets near the ball that something inspirational will happen.

        Heath James.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Bevan has been a stand out!

On Barry... I'd like to point out the enormous amount of cheering that was produced from the crowd at the TS match 2 weeks back. It was almost the same atmosphere it was when Lockett would get the ball. Almost a 'no matter what happens... the ball is in good hands' cheer.

People seem to forget on here that we are only 6 games in and have some terrific players still out. We shouldn't be throwing our premiership aspirations away so quickly!

We are still looking good. I'd rather some settling in at this end of the season rather than the other end!

We've played a good number of the teams in the top 8, whereas most of those in the top 8 have had easier competition than us.

We haven't had any disasters. Even our losses have been pretty small margins and we could have won with a couple of goals. So, having had a nap for at least a quarter in each of those losses, we were still in it.

We just need to settle down.

            I'm still confident.

Bevan and James! As I was writing the original post I was thinking "I'm missing a few here" but was too lazy to think more.

As I wrote a month ago, I think good teams improve a lot during the season. And we are much better now than te were this time last year. And (probably because of an inspiring coach) the kids are really coming up well. Whether we get there will depend on luck and injuries too but we're still supporting an exciting team.
