I downloaded the software last night in anticipation of joining in, and then remembered a hair appointment so depending on what time I make it back, I may pop in.

I must agree that the chat room isn't very user friendly I sometimes have a lot of trouble with it, and it crashed on me once but then worked fine the second try, but unless someone sets up another one (that is free) its all we have.
We had a good turn up, which was pleasing I'm not sure what BAM_BAM meant about downloading the software because it's just a regular java based chat, works though most browsers (I say most not all), no special software required.
Let's hope we get another good turn up next Thursday, or another night too if anyone wants to nominate one.

There used to be informal chat sessions after a game... why not do that instead of regular Thursday nights? On a Thursday, there's not much footy stuff to talk about other than the team changes.
We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!
Charlie, it might be hard to get everyone chatting then, as at any given time, a lot of people will be at the game itself, and won't return home for a few hours afterwards. Maybe sunday night?
I reckon weeknights are the best compromise for everyone - fri and saturday nights are usually "going out" nights for a lot of folk...
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out.... Des' Weblog

I'll confess I'm not the most computer literate person and had almost everything loaded on my drive for me. When trying to connect to the chat room, I received a message telling me I didn't have the correct software do so and I would need to download what was required.
Some advice on whether this is correct or not would be welcomed

TE, most likely it was asking you to download java plugins or something, as your browser needs it to work.
