    did we have any winners?

i think it is easy to get p@#d off straight after the game but ,without seeing the replay, there was a few positives...
ROK was strong but inconsistent at his kicking
    Heath was not disgraced
    Ball rucked ok
Mathews got a pile of possessions and played and beat Krakouer,Tivendale ,Hartigan and then had to struggle with Brown and Bowden.
Kennelly was ok and finally looked strong 'overhead'
Williams worked hard and got the possessions but was wastefull
    Baz never stopped
    Buchanan and Bevan are 'goers'
    Doyle continues to improve
Come on, i'm sure we can see some more good signs within the carnage.
All our losses have been 'close' and some very controversial...we'll still be close in september.

Close losses dont cut it anymore. Close losses cost Eade his job, and this time it will cost players their positions come season's end. A close loss to Richmond, in their current state, DEFINATELY has no positives.

Very impressed with Buchanan. Probably his best game so far.
      A softie for Matthew Nicks

      Bring back Schuabs!

Buchanan did some good things, the smother in the first qtr, a great chase and tackle after being kicked in the head while on the ground, unlucky not to get a free in the goal sqr, when it appeared he was taken high. (Lloyd or Hird would have got one).

Disposal was a bit sloppy, but he was no Robinson Crusoe there.

If there's one thing I can forgive in young players then it is sloppy disposal. Hopefully this will improve over time (although I have been waiting for Fossie and J Bolton to improve for some time now...). He seemed to be where the ball was a lot of the time, which is a good sign, and there was no lack of effort on his part which was definately refreshing.

I reckon a midfield that includes him, McVeigh, Schneider and perhaps Bevan could be quite impressive for the future, if they all keep developing as they have been. Would love to add Ablett, but can't say he did much today.

I haven't watched a tape yet and don't know when I'll feel up to facing it. But until midway through the 3rd quarter I thought we were clearly the better team - not good, ordinary skills, appalling delivery into the forward line, unable to cope with the slippery ball, but still winning more contests, especially in the midfield, than the Richmond. What then unfolded was so horrible that it clouds the first half of the match.

But it there is one positive it must be that at least they showed they could clear the ball out of the centre consistently. Just a shame that they seemed to think that this alone would win them the game and forgot the bit about getting the ball constructively into the forward line.

Seeing a glimpse of a return to form of Kennelly was also pleasing. Maybe this suggests he is getting over whatever injury he's been carrying and hopefully can move forward.
