    Aftermatch/players

    Anyone who went to the AM and managed to speak to any of the players, what were they saying/how did they seem?

    And one other slightly random q - if you go to the aftermatch where they tell you to take your keyring, can you get in if you just take you card? I've never been to an aftermatch...

      I didn't go to the aftermatch... I couldn't handle it.

      I do know that Ryan O'Keefe and Jared Crouch were going though.

      Also, you do need a keyring to get to the aftermatch.

          I find this rule stupid - if you can prove you are a member, what difference does it make??

              I think it has to do with the difference between a season ticket holder and "full club member" as they like to say. One gets you a keyring which provides entry to AMs, the other doesn't.

              I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

              If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

                  We tried to go the lunch advertised by the Swans with the band. Band was there but no sausage sandwich/steak sandwiches etc. All they wanted to get into the same area where aftermatch is held - is the membership card.
                  Pretty cranky as we went to support the swans as they kept saying they needed the support - male in our party even dressed up for admittance - as they seem to have strict dress regulations - no show of food they advertised.
                  No one could help us that we asked.

                      We had the same problem. Turned up earlier than we would have to come for lunch. No food. Eventually (around 20 to 1), they brought out a BBQ plate, I went over and it hadn't even been turned on. We saw plenty of people going downstairs to buy food and bringing it up. Very poorly organised.

                          I went to the aftermatch. It was dreadful. Blaring music directed at the young, they were really fussy about keyrings (we had to let 2 in then one went back down with the 2 medallions to get the third person in) and the atmosphere was understandably bleak. John Longmire seemed very upset and bewildered. Crouch was also not very happy,but they didn't want questions from the fans and sidestepped answering the one question they did allow - Why did they play so wide.All in all a miserable time and definitely not worth the trip to Sydney. And unfortunately my next trip is to see us killed by St Kilda.

                              John Longmire seemed very upset and bewildered. Crouch was also not very happy,but they didn't want questions from the fans and sidestepped answering the one question they did allow - Why did they play so wide.
                              Yes, the aftermatch was very bleak and John Longmire did seem very upset.

                              However, I thought that Jared Crouch spoke very well. I don't think he side-stepped the question about going wide, he said that other teams have started to pick up on the swans game plan and it was harder to play with consistency because of that. He then spoke of the 'leadership' group going back to the drawing board for solutions. I thought the answer was satisfactory but the gentleman who asked the question didn't let up about it even though it was answered and in the end it was Luffy who cut the answer short and summed it up himself.

                              Also, Crouchie was more than willing to answer other questions but Luffy ended the aftermatch with a quick thank you to the players.

                              And with the cards and keyrings thing, the entrance we came in was accepting both.

                                  We raised this with the Club today. It was a problem with the caterers, but still the Swans need to take responsibility as they were promoting it.
