No it's a 2002 feeling where we lose a lot of close games..its just about over now its just so frustrating that we're up there until the last few mins every game and just can't get over the line...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRR

Yes just corrected the post to 2002!

Feels like we are going to get a Melbourne Demons reputation - but in even years...

It's not ABSOLUTELY over yet but we MUST win our next 3 home games against Hawthorn, Bulldogs and Saints.. (i think thats who we play) We lose even one of these and all I can see us doing is making up the numbers in the 8 this year.

Gonna be very tough, particular if Port Freo and Brisbane win their games this round - will be 3 games out of the top 6 and really, to have any hope of doing much in September, you need to be top 4, or 5/6 with a good run of form behind you.

It's just so frustrating again that we had patches where we looked like the 2003 team, but then others where we were just so poor and looked like a rabble. In some ways I just wish we were a rabble all the time - would stop us getting our hopes up and then have them dashed when we play a quarter or two of terrible football.

          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

No. Far from it. Better effort in terms of clearances, but we weren't able to win the ball once it had the ground. The pace and skill of the WCE midfield really showed us up today and their defence rebounded at will.

Positives are that Mickey a good day out in his first game back and that we used the corridor much more effectively.

From today's game, and what we've seen from Hawthorn and WB so far, we SHOULD win those games and get us back to 5-5. Of course, all we need is for some rain and we're stuffed.

Some shocking football in patches - things like turning the ball over twice from kick outs in the last five minutes and Fosdike handballing to Judd who kicks to Cox and goal when the difference is a few points.

Our disposal and tackling were very ordinary in spots and that's what lets us down.

That is my worry - you need to be at least even with wins and losses.

Let's hope Hawthorn continue the slump, and that the Bulldogs don't play to their best while we are stuffing around with the ball...

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Premiership within 3 years... I don't think so.

At least not until we get a fullback of Dunkley's ability

or an even better idea, wait until Andrew Schauble comes back. You know the guy who did the job well last season and hasn't played yet this season. I can't believe why so many write him off or don't rate him.

I think we need more than shaubs. We have problems down back.

James was beaten a lot today and rogers looked lost. Bolton is not the solution.

Backline did seem to struggle today - Eagles players seemed to take some easy marks on leads or crumb well. However I still note that we rarely seem to have help when the ball goes inside 50, unlike in our 50, and the opposition midfielders still don't seem to be pressured enough when putting inside 50.
