    Go Nicks!

There seemed to be a general feeling here that bringing back Matthew Nicks was a retrograde step. Anyone prepared to eat their words? He was one of the few who rarely disappointed today. Nice to see him again - but how can anyone lose so much hair so fast?

Definitely not our worst yesterday, and could play some sort of role through the remainder of the season, but unfortunately he plays a similar sort of game to a bunch of others in the team, and not the type we currently lack. He's not the answer moving forward into 2005.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I thought he was quite ok, but as already said, he is not the way forward. I think now Roos has to go back to the plan he was working on last year before we looked like contenders. It is time to start working out who in the side will win us a premiership in 2 years, coz it aint happening this year.

With one eye on the future playing him is not going to help the club, but with shallow depth, and the need to win games sometimes you need some experience.

I think to say you shouldn't play him is folly. He played OK and at least has some idea on how to deliver the footy. He looked a bit timid or maybe a bit tentative in his first game back.

He is another player who for years now has been played out of position. His best footy by far was HBF, yet coaches continue to think they can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

We are struggling for good ground work in the backline at present. He was very good at supporting across HB and running through the centre. Put him back there and leave him there.

Ask anyone at present what they would like changed about our play and they will tell you to increase the accruacey when kicking forward.

Nicks can give us that at this stage off HBF with an occasional run on the ball.

He may not be the answer in 2 or 3 years time, but at this point in time needs him.

Nicksy brings a steadying and assured maturity back to the team, and ever player knows this. He doesn't do much wrong, and tackles like a lion grabbing a gazelle. I reckon his contribution was right up there considering what he has come back from.

                  I agree.

Nicks played well yesterday, he made a few mistakes, but fixed them up with pressure on the ball.

His hair on the other hand... looks better now (shaved) rather than last year as it reclined to the back of his head!

Nice to meet you yesterday arvo David! See you next week if it's a win!?
