    Nick Davis

Is anyone else beginning to see a pattern that whenever Nick Davis plays, we lose? Anyone see that at all?

Just thought I would point that out...

Can't say I have picked up a pattern, but is playing shizzenhousen right now. Needs to lift his act to justify his cheque each week, like a few others. Jude must be really hungry, and being from Melbourne he can't go home to mum for a meal.

The pattern being the 3 games he hasn't played in are the ones we have won. Pure coincidence of course. I doubt he's back to full fitness just yet and when he does, hopefully he can start playing the way he was against Brisbane in the first half of game 1.

Give him the rest of the season off to get completely right then, does he ever look fit? Just doesn't get it enough which is a problem because he is one of the few players who can hit a target every time. Perhaps he lacks an ability to read the play thus can never get the pill. But now that he can no longer find the goals he has become a liablility like so many of his mates.

I think he is one of many of our stocks whose career must now be at the crossroads. With finals looking a bleak prospect we must start planning ahead with our list. Davis might be a tempting trading option. Others in this category might be Kennelly and Jude Bolton, even Fosdike if clubs are prepared to wear someone who regularly turns the ball over. You would think that Davis and Fossie playing milestone games would have at least put in. Jakovich showed us up for emotional input.

            WHAT?

I think he's still not recovered from his injury. He chipped into 50 to Pebbles to mark and have a shot at goal, from a spot where he would usually nail it.

There's something not right. If it's not his injury then it's confidence. I don't think it's the latter. He could kick that goal in his sleep usually.

Trade him? I don't think so.

Well if he's injured he should not be playing. As someone else said give him the season off, he never looks fit. I think he is a bit lazy, why can't someone with his pace and skills play in the midfield? He is not earning his money.

Why the hell would I grow up in Sydney barracking for the wobbles? But Davis is not allowed to be criticised even if he does not put in like yesterday.

Yep, he should be playing in the midfield a lot more and resting in the pocket. If not putting in big minutes in the midfield he should be playing on the half forward flank. He is clearly still injured, he is on the injury list every week. We have been hammered by injuries... from his handful of disposals yesterday he probably hit as many targets as anyone else. It seems he has not been given the proper rest to recover from his injury because of the injury to Micky, the seemingly failed (for the moment) Goodes-forward experiment and the injury to Schneider around the time Micky was looking to be coming back. He should not be played if injured, but I would guess that it was out of need... and that he appears to be playing through with an injury because the team needs him should be more positive for him than giving people a chance to jump on his back. I see no reason to question his footy smarts... if he is playing as an outside midfielder at packs, it is not his fault if the tap or the in-and-under midfielder cannot get the ball to him. Talk of trading him considering the way he started the season before a serious injury is absurd.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

He is injured. HAs to be.

A trade option..i have heard it all now. I would not trade Nick Davis for anyone at this stage.

We all saw how a fully fit Nick Davis played in just one half of football.

Davis is injured plain and simple, if he is restricted then blood someone else.

                          So quick to judge!

I've never heard such a ridiculous statement.... trade Davis? Are you completely insane?!?

Fozzy played well IMO. He got 2 goals when we needed them, as for Jude he was hard at the ball all day.

So annoying how people love to blame certain players for the losses (Jude and Fozzy). The Saddo threads seem to have died down for a while.... wonder how long that will last?

It was fun to hear at one stage yesterday "Nicks kicks to Saddington". I thought they may have slipped an historic tape in by mistake!

Nick Davis is one of the best kicks in AFL. Wouldn't trade him for quids. Whenever he gets the ball, you pretty much know it will hit the target. I'm sure he's not 100%, but even if he's below par I for one am thrilled to have him in the team.
