Always look on the bright side...

Whatever happens win, lose or draw - this is my team.
We never win a flag for another 1000 years - this is my team.

At the end of the day - it's only a game. Whilst it's more enjoyable when one is successful, the law of averages are that this is not going to be the case.

One team has to and will win the Grand Final. 15 teams will not.

As fans you are entitled to be upset, frustrated and disappointed but think some of you have gone over the top. But for the spitting would be hard to tell the difference between you and Richmond supporters.

Some of you guys need to put footy into perspective.

If the team you support loses - you as a fan only have two options.

"To stay fat" as Spud put it or to piss off.

        Which, Footyhead do you choose?

Yeah, that sounds like my team...

Yes, but on that basis you should win every 15 years. We haven't won in 71 years. Look at other sides - Bulldogs haven't won in 50 years, Geelong in 31, Melbourne in 30, St Kilda in 28, Richmond in 24, but the rest within the past 15 years (except the two that haven't won yet). I suppose we can at least be thankful we don't barrack for Fitzroy!!

I don't think the vast majority of negative comments have been OTT.

I agree with that general sentiment. People take football far too seriously at times. I find it very cathartic to have a bit of a complain here after we perform badly, but it's not the end of the world.

            I rend to agree.

Make suggestions, consider alternative postions for players, but there seem to be a lot of cry baby posts here.

At the end of the day, we need to make the finals, and this is still a very realistic possibility as far as I'm concerned.

I remember thinking that the Bombers were stuffed at the start of the season.

            And Richmond.
I mean, for Christs sake, RICHMOND are above us on the ladder :lol

We still have 2/3 season to go, our form will improve and we will win more gmaes.
Let's hope we are in great form coming into the finals and pull something out of the hat.

All that's happened so far this season IMO, os that we most likely won't finish in the top 4.
            There is always hope.

              Well, that's football, innit?

I'll be pretty depressed for the couple of hours straight after a loss, but I can usually get a bit of perspective by the next day. That was that, let's move on, etc etc.

Sure, it means a hell of a lot to me - you don't travel all over the country for nothing, you don't feel the hurt if you don't care. But in the end, it's just the icing on the cake of my life.

Sometimes the cake is okay by itself.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....
