I don't think we should drop Willo this week.

I think Roosey should give him some straightforward advice...play it simple.

All Willo needs to do this week is PICK UP THE BALL if it is within his reach.

Then, and only then, focus on the next thing - find a simple target and hit it.

Don't think about anything fancy-schmancy for a whole game.

I reckon we are worrying about what we are gonna do with it BEFORE we get it.

If we fixed this one thing for this week I would be pretty happy. I'm certain we would win too.

Drop Willo? Are you nuts? While playing below his best, I still think he's doing much better than the rest of the midfield and definitely a class above them.

Yeah I did go a little nuts....I was trying to thibnk outside the square about how to get the team to realise that EVERY player must play to their potential.

This is the only way for us to contend.

So thinking "I wasn't that great but I was still more of a contributor than that young bloke who doesn't have as much natural talent as me and spent half the game on the bench," will result in not being in the finals.

Radical idea, I know, but I did float the idea of dropping senior players who were underperforming....just to see what might happen to the team.

I would like to know how many AFL games you and sharp9 have played. Willo is our second most experienced games player. You talk about his disposal, he is one of the best kicks in the competition and nearly always kicks to his targets. What about the receivers who drop an uncontested mark? Drop him and see how well the team will go. Instead of bagging him and the team, get behind the boys. Its people like you, who love them when they are winning but are the first to criticise when they are losing. Grow up and be real supporters.

I think that is the problem, the whole team have gotten ahead of themselves thinking about what they will be before they have become it . Ala 1997.
Once agin the Swans have proved that last years results mean nothing.

Oh right, of course if I had only played the game at professional level then I would be able to understand what hitting a target and fumbling are. Obviously since I never made it to the big show I have no eyes and no brain. All those times I think I'm looking at an error or an errant bit of form I am obviously mistaken!!!! If I had played for the Swans myself then I would be able to see that Willo 2004 hits the target just as often as Voss and Buckley.

You have been watching tape from 2001, 2002 and 2003. The Swans have played this year as well.

Drop him and see how well the team will go.

That's what I'm doing, I'm trying to think of a way which might result in players playing better. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result. We've tried dropping young players not playing to their potential, we've tried not changing the side and "having faith" maybe we should try dropping senior players who are underperfoming? The season is over if we keep on this way anyway so what do we have to lose?
