I am a big fan of Paul Bevan but how did he make the best player list with just 6 possessions and 1 mark!!?
Did I miss something?

I wondered that at first, but I assume it was because he completely stopped Sampi.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Does a half of solid effort just say how bad the group was? I would have put Ball in, he was far from worst!Sports do not build character. They reveal it....Heywood Broun
I always turn to the sports pages first, which record people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures......Earl WarrenComment

Fosdike was one of the "Best" in the Sunday Herald Sun. Had no kicks in the first half and handed the game to Judd in the last Q.
And I thought it was hard to get a gig as a journalist these days. Well it certainly seems any old flunky journo who knows jack about the game can get a gig. I know, the appenticeship for a finance journo is doing the footy.Comment

The reasone journalisim is crap today is cos the same few men own everything, and the only thing they notice is if somthing or other does not conform with everything else. As long as they all say the same sh hit, 98% of the people will buy it !Comment

AFL listed Williams as the best!
IMO Hall, Kirk, Crouch, Ball, O'Loughlin, Buchanan and Bevan all did their jobs.
Mathews and Nicks didn't do much wrong but didn't influence the game much.
Davis and O'keefe were good....when they had the ball which wasn't enough.
All the others were either lost (Kennelly) or outplayed (Rogers, James) or had a mix of really good and really bad....that tended to the negative side of the ledger (Williams, Bolton, Bolton, Fosdike, Saddington, Goodes, Maxfield and whoever else was playing, it's too depressing to remember - oh yeah, Lightning Disposal Leo)
Re Bevan....Sampi had no influence. If Crouch was on Judd then maybe he should be in the Outplayed section."I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment

Bit tough to blame Goodes for the result of this game. He won the rucking contest!
Pebbles (along with Schneider) has been one of the team's best at moving the ball forward. But last weekend he was perfectly tagged and I can't recall him taking a mark. He looked set up for a couple of rock solid hit marks then, bang, the fist came over and the ball was on the ground. Can we ban cameras at the SCG so coaches can't keep working out how to negate us?Comment
