I noticed this late in the match Pebbles was on the bench for quite a while. His name came up on screen where they show the on's and off's. About 30 seconds later Jones came up for WC as going on. He basically was his shaddow all game, played on his body and got his arms around to spoil almost everytime.

Agree with these 100% though I had Buchanan also. His 1%ers were great.

Hall hasn't failed to disappoint this season... pity the same can't be said for the rest of the team.

I would really like to know where Hall stands in the TLM... he MUST be in the lead!!!!???

I agree, Hall is having a fantastic season. Recently it seems like it's Them V Barry Hall ! He has definately been the stand out for Sydney.

            Brownlow?

I wonder if Hally could win the Brownlow? The Swans have won more Brownlow medals than any other club, and a Swans team profile often seen in years when the Swans have won Brownlows has been one standout player in an average team - 1995 (Swans finished 12th out of 16), Skilton won three Brownlows but played in only one final in his entire career, etc.

Now that Goodes is out of form and injured, I would back Hall for the Brownlow, especially if he is at 25-1 or greater.

Edit: With Sportsbet - HALL Barry (Syd) 41.00

Its obvious hes been the standout so far, but it all depends on how the umpires view him. In an underpeforming team where we have been competitive in all our losses, you'd think that the umps will be giving 3 points to the winning team, and then 2 or 1 to a Sydney player. Im thinking Bazza has got to be right up there as the best player deserving that 1 (or 2) point in each of the games we have lost.

He was also terrific in the ones we did win, so get on Bazza for the Brownlow this year!

                lol. I LOVE that idea.

He deserves to be in the running. But Hall winning a Brownlow? 4 years ago that would have made as much sense as Lockett winning a Brownlow, or Libba, or Dipper!

                Hang on....

He does poll votes regularly. He got 7 votes in 2003 and 14 votes in 2002.

For the record, I said after round 6 last year that Goodes was a good chance for the Brownlow. This year, I think Bazza has a chance, particularly if he stays away from the tribunal again this year and plays all 22 games.

40-1 is his current odds. He's a good value bet right now! Even if he doesn't win, from a gambling point of view his chance of winning are good. Swans players do win Brownlows about every 7 or 8 years, and any Swan that is a standout player must be considered for a bet.

40-1 is definitely good odds. It all depends whether the umpires will vote for him, I think he has played well enough in most games to earn votes. Would be the leading Swan vote getter vy far.

                      Umpires Vote for BAZ!!!!!!!

They struggle to give the guy a free kick, let alone vote for him.

                        I agree.

It really is an outrage though... he has been in the BOG each round.

Noticed last night on TF that Bazza is currently third on the Coaches Assoc. Player of the year award.
Getting plenty of respect from the opposition.

on the hawthorn messageboard there are only two sydney related threads. one being where to meet up,( coogee bay hotel is the best beer garden ever apparently) and the other one centered on who should take hall.

maybe they can't name any of our other players

I worked at The Age a few years back, and I was chatting down the rubbity to this 20 something y/o who did the write ups on the Swans matches, he knew nothing about footy and less about the Swans.

But in his defence, within the year or two he was promoted to a political reporter and now works for TV news as a political reporter.

Just learn to ignore footy write ups in the newspapers unless it's by a big name journo, and whatever you never may any attention to the racetips they're usually picked by anyone who's walking past.

Surely you are not "THE" Hard Luck Harry who gave his tips on 3UZ on Saturday mornings. If I recall correctly Hard Luck Harry was a better tipster than the Racing Journos who are still running that gig.
