Goodes out for two to six weeks

Sydney's Adam Goodes will be sidelined from the AFL for two to six weeks with a knee injury.

Scans today on the posterior cruciate ligament he tore at the opening bounce of Saturday's loss to West Coast confirmed a major blow for the struggling Swans, who have lost their last four games.

Goodes will be reassessed by medical staff on Friday.

The loss of their 2003 AFL Brownlow medallist compounds the Swans' woes as goalsneak Adam Schneider and key, tall defender Andrew Schauble are out for another four weeks with hamstring injuries.

Sydney must arrest its patchy form and overcome its injury toll to even up its season with wins in its next two games.

The Swans play Hawthorn and then the Western Bulldogs, both at the SCG.

Goodes said his injury would never heal and was something he would have to carry with him.

"In terms of getting back in play, it's not a healing process," Goodes said.

"For this week's game anyway we will have to reassess.

"There's no time limit on it.

"You look at Leo Barry, he was out for eight weeks and compare that to Jared Crouch who didn't miss a game with the same sort of injury.

"So we will reassess on Friday but if we have to put a time on it, maybe two to six weeks."
    Never heal? Gore blimey!

How can Shauble still be four weeks away ??

It's the great Sydney Swans Hamstring Mystery (SSHMTM) where it takes 3 times as long as any other club to get a player suffering a hamstring injury back on the field.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Schauble has already missed 8 games and now is likely to miss 4 more. Yet I heard an interview with him 3 weeks ago where he said he was doing a lot of running and was reasonably fit. This seems like a case of Heath James revisited. What the hell !!!!

I think he is suffering tedonitis as a result of the hamstring injury.
          This is common, apparently.

            two to six weeks?

I presume that means that he will be listed as being back in 2 weeks for no less than 6 weeks.
We all dream of a team of BLTs!

Yep. It's what led to Jacko retiring last weekend.
