If it had've been soccer it would've been a nil all draw.
Nothing to get excited about.
Bllody hell - nothing to get excited about ! Did you just sit in your seat and yawn when that siren went off (what a long quarter).
Earlier on when Sam Mitchell hand-balled a rushed behind under no pressure I had thought AND said "hope we win by a point". Very sweet, although in retrospect a larger margin would be good.

We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Wow. I have no idea how to answer that. Inertia I guess?
Good point.
I just have this thing where I'd like to see the Swans win a flag before I die - it's kinda on my to do list.
Playing that badly - no matter what the result - simply reinforces to me, that it isn't gonna happen this year or anytime soon.
When I watch us play I ask myself if I could see each player in a premiership team; and the answer is no for so many: Mathews Crouch Ablett Fosdike Warfe Nicks JBolton (as an important midfielder anyway)
And then there are those who are too old to win a flag with the Swans: Maxfield Williams Ball
I just have a horrible feeling we're gonna win our next spoon before our next flag. That's a feeling I've had for probably 24 of 27 years supporting the Swans, and I hate it.
I tend to agree with Midaro. I win is better than a loss for sure, but it was hardly great.
There were perhaps a couple of small positives, but not a lot - Buchanan doing quite well in clearances and tackles; Saddington showing some reasonable form early; patches of good form by Kennelly and Barry; good games by Kirk, Crouch, Hall, O'Keefe and Williams again.
Nothing great though, except for 4 points.

Only reasonable? He had 9 touches to 1/4 time. Seemed (to me, I could be wrong) that he died out as he started to have to do more ruck work, which is fair enough (if I am correct).

The way we have been going I'll take a "woeful" win any day of the week over a loss.
How well did leaping Leo play.Williams has been the Hawks best player but Leo held him to 1? posession plus ran like a mad man out of defence.
Tadhg also ran a bit more.
Handballing to players under pressure is frustrating the hell out of me.
We have hardly been in the best of form recently so to expect to beat Hawthorn by 10 goals is silly. To win after a Perth road trip and play ourselves into form is great.
This will be the start of something. If we can beat the Dogs next week, I reckon we have a great chance of knocking off the Saints. If we do that, I hope a few of you downers come out and eat humble pie.

Reasonable in that a lot of our possessions were easy, uncontested ones (we had 100 in the first qtr!!).
He spent quite a bit of time in the ruck and did okay against the huge Robert Campbell.

Sure, it's great to get a win but let's put it in some perspective.
We fell over the line by 1 pt at home against one of the worst sides in the competition and we were goalless for nearly half the game. Hardly points towards a great return to form.
