Did we just scrape over the line against a bottom two side?
I do not wish to take the gloss of the win, I embrace it with open arms, but did we just fall over the line against the second worst team in the league?

And we have done it against some pretty pathetic sides.
But hey i doubt you will get mahy replies..as most here actually think we are playing decent footy.

I have just realised a lot of these arguements are taking/have taken place in the "Woeful" thread.
There are just too many new posts to read on a Monday morning and still try to look like you are doing work.

An interesting stat I read last week was that Sydney had not beaten any bottom 8 sides, only top 8 sides - North Melbourne, Fremantle and Geelong.Originally posted by Diego

This suggests the ladder is upside down, our guys get overconfident when playing a week team, or are unable to stamp their authority on a game, and let the playing style of the other team dominate.
Its a worrying sign when we can't put away Bottom 8 sides - they should be the matches you win.Comment

yeah thats my point. We can't put away woeful teams. We are like the camilions of the AFL.
Our game really refletcs on the type of form the opposition is in. Has been that way for a long time.Comment

I don't think our win was terrific, but I certainly think we deserved it. Had we lost by one point I would have been uncontrolable!
The game yesterday IMO was a tough slog. Our tackelling was outstanding and although we had our 2nd quarter blues, we held on in the last ten minutes when it COUNTED!
On other posts there is debate on whether this will be taken as a positive or a negative win... I only hope that the Swans realise they can hold it together and get their confidence/ form back.

Hawthorn beat Fremantle, Fremantle beat Brisbane, Brisbane beat Sydney and Sydney beat Hawthorn. None of it makes any sense!!!
Except that maybe St Kilda is beating everybody.
I do believe, though, that we were lucky to play Geelong when they had a lot of injuries early in the season - they seem to be on the rise.Comment
