    Saddington---come on let's praise him!

He has had so much heaped on him, I think we need a Sadd?s thread for his very serviceable effort yesterday in a lacklustre team display.

It seems to have come out in other threads, but one just to praise him....sure why not...and maybe Bron can print it off and fax it to the club?

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

AP - In a press statement released this morning, the underground 'Saddington Resistance Movement' made its most direct statement yet. Directed towards the Swans fan masses, and particularly politically active elements on the internet, founder Charlie Goodman read the press release himself.

"You all know there has been a great amount of attention on the form of Jason Saddington. The Saddington Resistance Movement rejoices in their victory, and the renewed form of Jason in his new role in the team."

      "We told you so."

Goodman stuck his tongue out - - and refused to answer questions before returning to the shadowy group's Secret HQ.

Yeah, we really should have listened to all those people pushing for him to become a ruckman...

Anyone remember the days when Saddington was a handy wingman ?

It now appears as though he is much better away from the back line, and those who tried to force him into CHB have wasted his talent for so many years.

How does a spine of Schauble, Goodes, Ball, Hall, O'loughlan sound ?

            Pretty @#$%ing good to me!

Saddo was ok yesterday. I think he's starting to enjoy the freedom to roam the ground. And I was praising his name when he took the mark (and his time) at the end of the game.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Perhaps not ruck, although I clearly recall stating he should be moved up the ground to a less-accountable position. He, Kennelly and Goodes rotating through those positions would cause nightmares for the opposition.

BTW - did you go on a posting binge or something? Only 12 behind! My kingdom for an argument thread!

edit: Barry - not that bad, but would MUCH prefer Schauble, James, Goodes, Hall, O'Loughlin. The ruck is a key position, but it isn't a spine position. The centre is.

I agree. Many people were calling for him to be moved to a flank or perhaps a wing. He works much better when not being directly accountable and having more freedom. His weakness in a body-on-body duel was illustrated by how easily Jacobs beat him for a mark on the wing.

Yeah - I seem to have gone berserk in the past 24 hours!!

Well, I find the less obvious outcomes interesting as there is more to analyse!!

Yes - I think this is a pretty decent spine.

hmm if we have to resort to having Ball play centre then we are in trouble.

Schauble, Goodes, Bolton (J), Hall, O'Laughlin for mine.

                    Back on to the topic...

I think Saddington is a good football player. (is that what you are after Rob-bloods?)

Is there a Saddington Revivalist Movement too? As it seems to be taking on something of the feeling of a second coming perhaps the theme song/hymn could be "Oh Come All Ye Footballs"

                          Joyful and triumphant indeed.

Saddo did well - even as emergency ruck against the incredible hulk from Hawthorn we got a ball or two. He's obviously better through wing and HF line, delivers well and is showing more discernment about when to mark and when to hit. More strength to him!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

You wait Charlie. Greg Bell seriously wants to register <Saddosalegend.com> and have Des create a virtual shrine to the great man.

Hey, the "God's Gift to Football" quip started off as a joke, but especially on a win or on a HFF I reckon Saddo is going ok.
