Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos admits the atmosphere around the club is a lot more upbeat after the one-point victory over Hawthorn on Sunday, which ended a four-match losing streak.

However, that relief soon turned to frustration after watching the video.

He isolated Sydney?s problem in front of goal as a major area of concern ahead of Saturday night?s clash with the Western Bulldogs at the SCG.

?(The Hawthorn match) was a microcosm of our season a little bit where we played some terrific footy but didn?t take our chances and then let then back in, but thankfully we got over the line,? Roos told Sportal.

?It was probably some of the best footy we had played in the first and third quarters, but we kicked 4.4 and 5.5 and you have to do a better job when you are playing well to convert.?

Roos believes the conversion rate is the main difference between the club last year - when Sydney made the preliminary final - and this year.

?A four-quarter performance now really means taking advantage when you are playing well and when the opposition is playing well keeping them down to two to three goals or so,? Roos said.

?I remember Geelong last year when we were up by 10 (goals) at half time and they came back but we had a buffer.

?West Coast we were up by eight (goals) at halftime and we won by 10 points.

?No-one sort of talks about you being up-and-down when you are winning, it?s more obvious when you are losing.

?So I don?t think the consistency (of playing four good quarters) is the main problem.

?Against Melbourne we didn?t take our chances at times, we did against the Dockers, we did against the Kangaroos, we probably did against Brisbane even though we lost (by two-points).

?So that is the main thing, we just have to have to take advantage of our opportunities when they present.?

Roos expects sharp-shooter Nick Davis (hip flexor soreness) to return for the Western Bulldogs match after he ran without pain in four running sessions this week.
