I don't know whether it's just me, but I find that most followers of any AFL team seem to despise him.

Test 1 - win again (accomplished against Hawks)
Test 2 - win clearly, even when dodgy umpiring may go against us. This weekend could be our chance. Yes we have lost games to dodgy umpiring. But if we play well enough it shouldn't be important. We used to be the least penalised team but that has changed as we become scrappier. Let's see if this week is the renaissance?Comment

Lucky Goldspink wasn't umpiring us last week, no doubt Spider would have been awarded a free kick in those dying seconds, even if he did take it over the line.
We just need to show them that we don't need lucky free kicks to win games for us. (This is excluding our win over the Roos- THANK YOU CRESSA!)Comment

Your own opinion sure. But try not to misrepresent other people's views. I tried to suggest that it was time that the Swans got over close finishes that meant a dodgy umpiring decision became vital (as it wouldn't be if we were 30 points up). Then the next person suggested that the umpire could have called that Spider had taken the mark - and that would have cost us the game. And somehow that's coming up with excuses in advance for the Doggies game?Originally posted by Dpw
But Iam not?
I would have thought "lighten up" wasn't excessive.
Oh, and Darren Goldspink's umpiring is never completely balanced throughout a game. And I've never seen the balance falls the Swans' way. So I agree his umpiring does stink.Comment

there we are then - Goldspink stinks - but we live in hope that maybe one day he WILL GET IT RIGHT (oh and its to our benefit of course!)
