    Another Bandwagon Thread

Ok, thought I'd give this topic another airing, even though it has been done to death for years.

Watching the Hawthorn-Adelaide match this arvo, I noticed that the stands are pretty damn empty. Hawthorn arent doing very well this season, and suprise suprise, the crowds have dwindled significantly.

Sydney, on the other hand, were coming off 4 losses in a row, and still managed to post a respectable 25,000 at the SCG last weekend. No one can seriously say that Sydneysiders are any different from Melbourners when it comes to jumping on and off bandwagons as their teams win and lose.

Valid point, but to be honest, I think the HAwks fans up here had something to do with it - there were an awful lot of them - some sydney-based, and quite a few from melbourne. I think it made the numbers look a fair bit better than they really would have been had we played a "lesser" team.

Also it was a nice day. So you got the people who were just looking for a nice Sunday activity. The key is to give those who have had a taste and like what they see to take the next step and become members.

There was a huge number of Hawks supporters at the SCG last week actually which did help our numbers but yes, today's MCG crowd aint great.

Be interesting to see the final number for the MCG match today.

At least we now know who will win the 'spoon.

Makes me wonder how bad we were last week.

That's right - you look at our result last week and you realise we have an awfully long way to go. Hopefully we make up a lot of that ground tonight.

However, my comment will probably attract an apologist who will make another excuse such as we cannot expect to blow teams away when we are struggling. Why not!?! Adelaide just did!! The Kangaroos did. Carlton did. Geelong did. Port Adelaide managed a 30-goal turnaround.

So, let's see if we can do so tonight!

                  Yeah NMWBloods,

I agree with last week it was pretty bad. The only thing I have in the back of my mind is that if we kicked straighter we "could" have buried them early.

On another note - does anyone reckon Adelaide can make the 8? I reckon the Hawks and maybe Richmond are the only ones out of it. Yeah, I know the Tiges beat us but I still think they are the worst side in the comp.

The poor kicking is a good point, but it's still not a great excuse.

Outside the 8, I think that Hawthorn, Richmond, and Carlton won't make it. West Coast has some chance, but it's a fine line, much like Adelaide. Collingwood and the Bulldogs also have some chance, but they need to string together some form. Kangaroos are probably the best chance of the ones currently outside the 8.

It's very close through much of the middle of the ladder - it's a very big middle this year!!

Problem with Hawthorn is that when the humans stay away their other members, the dogs, cats, guinea pigs and budgies have no way of getting to the game.
