I find that very hard to believe - maybe a 2nd game as emergency ump at best, but to expect an umpire to officiate in 2 games in a single round is asking alot considering the amount of running they do during a game.

Are you sure it wasn't Saturday one round and Friday the next? That would be 2 games in one week!

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Well thats it - time for Aussie Ange to go and get her Umps qualification - no player in his right mind would argue the toss with her - she may be small, but she would give em what for.
So she would come up to Peter Everitts waist or that really tall chap from Geelongs knees but she wouldnt take any crap and she does know the rules backwards.

She also has a great Mancurian accent - and she knows how to use it.!!!!!

Me on the otherhand, would be much better as goal umpire, I'm as visually impaired as they seem to be and I could put a bit more flair into the flag waving.

Seriously though - I had heard too that there is a shortage of decent umpires - well perhaps decent is pushing it a bit but if there is a shortage then what about the emergency blokes? - I feel a bit sorry for the emergency umpire who is forever warming up on the sideline in the hope that one of his colleagues has a mishap - pity though its never Goldstink who comes a cropper.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

MacLaren definitely umpired 2 in a week (The combover talked about it on radio). He did friday night and then was emergency for the Sunday game and one of the umps got injured.

Giesch says there is absolutely no chance of doing it deliberately...too far to run etc, and they are relieved/pleased the MacLaren has pulled fine.

            There you go.

I have considered it in the past but unfortunately don't have the time and they train down near Rushcutters Bay, would be a problem getting home from work (to pick up the vehicle) and down there in time. Also my parents were married!

PS. It is a mancunian accent

My opinion of Terry Wallace just went up a notch. Tonight on WLF he bored it right up the maggots for descriminiating against Baz. If enough speak up they might wake up that they are doing themselves and the game no favours with their stupid prejudice against Big Barry.

Sorry - yes she was from Manchester but now a resident of Dee Why and I doubt she would speak Manderin all that well - but people if you have experienced a a full force yell of "MAN OOP" in the left ear every game day like I do - Then you will understand why I reckon our Ange would be fantastic. Alas..............

I read Terry Wallaces comments in todays Tele. Good on ya Tezza.

re: Goldstinker- the sooner he's gone from the AFL the happier I'll be although I thought tthe umpiring as a whole left a lot to be desired last Sat. Night.
