    Saddington

I swear it is the worst thing in football to see a player go down like that. I had just read that big article in The Age this morning about Tarkyn Lockyer, and thought that the Swans had been pretty lucky with their knees recently.

I hope he's okay, but it's not looking that great. An absolute shame, and it seems so unfair - he was looking so good moving up and around the ground the last few weeks.

Takes the shine off what was a pretty comprehensive win by the Swans (even if the scoreboard didn't reflect it).

I wouldn't saw we've been lucky. To lose two blokes - Sundqvist and Malceski - to ACLs is bad enough. To lose three is terrible.
    We hate Anthony Rocca
    We hate Shannon Grant too
    We hate scumbag Gaspar
    But Leo WE LOVE YOU!

Agreed ... seems we are now the AFL Knee ACL champions right now:
      Brisbane: Knee MCL - 1, Knee PCL - 1.
      Collingwood: Knee ACL - 1, Knee PCL - 1.
      Melbourne: Knee MCL - 1.
Port Adelaide: Knee ACL - 2, Knee MCL - 1.
St Kilda: Knee ACL - 1.
      Sydney: Knee ACL - 3.
West Coast: Knee PCL - 1.
Source: http://injuryupdate.com.au/injuries.php?sport=AFL (with Saddo's injury included).

There's only seven ACL injuries in that list and we have three of them.

Unfortunately it looks as though Saddo has done his ACL, very bad luck for him

So very very true. After bagging he copped on here and to then get his form back, to cop this injury is just plain unfair on the guy. Hopefully things aren't as bad as they seem now.

I really feel for him - he just starts to really find some good form and then this.

As Luffy said at the aftermatch, he has had a strange week - from the birth of his first child, (congrats Jason and Cassie) to this. I guess if there is an upside, he will have plenty more time to spend with his wife and newborn daughter now.

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

The injury gods really have forsaken us this year. Maybe it is punishment for not winning the flag last year after being given such an easy ride with injuries.

Huge shame for Saddo as he was starting to really contribute something.

But, where one door closes another one opens, and it may give James another chance to force his way back into the team. He may yet be a little green to play at the main defensive post but I reckon he has the athletic attributes to play a similar floating role to that Saddo has been doing recently.

For mine, he was the standout in the reserves game yesterday, especially in the second half playing up forward. He looked a class above anyone else out there, IMO. Definitely too good for the Canberra league.

Such bad luck for saddo..good luck in your recovery

This could be the chance that Sean Dempster may get also.. similar build to Saddo (Tall Utility) and seems on the verge of making his senior debut as he was emergency this week.

That really seems to be a problem with some of our talls that are on the fringe. Doyle & LRT have also dominated the Canberra league. It is just a matter of giving them the time in the seniors so they can make the step.

On the otehr hand, what are we going to do with Ablett. This guy is getting a real opportunity at making it in the seniors, but at best he is still just making up the numbers. Unlike McVeigh, he just isnt able to assert himself on the game. I dont think he has sufficient pace, and is not a particularly strong attacker at the ball. He is just a floater. He has a great chance now to find a spot with all the injuries, but unlike Buchanan, isnt really doing anything with it. And we still have guys like Powell & McGlone that will warrant a run in the next couple of weeks.

Well he just had a young one brought into the world by his lovely partner so that will be a welcome distraction from the depression he is going through at the moment with his knee.

Was really building up to the Jason we all know he can be.

The highs and lows of life dont get much more than what Jason is going through.

All the best Jason for a speedy and full recovery. Can't wait to see you back.

Very sad for Saddo, the team and supporters, especially now that he'd found a new lease of life playing up forward. Hope the recovery is swift and you return ASAP with renewed energy and determination...
