Throw Hall to FB? I guess you didnt see what happened to Fevola when he was thrown back to mind Gehrig!

Or the results when Timmy W decided to turn Hall into a FB a few years ago!

Hall is crucial to our forward line - not just for his goals but for the way he and O'Loughlin play off each other and the way he opens up opportunities for the Buchanans, Davises, Schneiders, Saddos (or their ilk) etc of this world.

Yeah, that would be a tactic only if we're getting hammered. I would not start the game like that if we didn't have to!

I think that was actually Malcolm.

          Completely agree.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Timmy...Malcolm...they both had some strange ideas about taking their most naturally talented players and putting them in positions that least suited them!

What a difference a year makes. There are very few structural changes to both of these sides from last years game. We have one retired and 5 injured from last year's game. Kirk held Hayes to 11 touches. We won 15.22 (112) 9.7 (61)

                My attempt to match up

                Barry v Hamill
                Kennelly v Reidwolt
                Goodes v Gehrig
                Matthews v Milne
                Bevan v Guerra

ideally id like saddington and schuable in the team

                  1. Barry v Hamill - 50/50
                  2. Goodes v Reidwolt - Goodes dominant
                  3. James v Gehrig - James to hold gehrig down, run off him, and hope someone near goes the spoil.
                  4. Crouch v Milne - Just be careful you dont tackle him high when he slips over.
                  5. Matthews v Guerra - Interesting duel
                  6. Bolton v Kosinski - Good match up.

I'm not quite sure where Kennelly fits in this. Maybe Kosi or Guerra. In that case Matthews goes to Milne, Crouch into midfield for a tag.

interesting but i cant see goodesy beating riedwaldt at the moment...with his knee i feel hes better suited to gherig ... and i dont think james can quite handle the task..... though he is a good young player...

maybe nicks could go down to defence?? and actually do something?

not a bad thought you know, especially as he's got to establish himself back in the team.

i think with the aerial power we have in the backs, especially leo and goodes, a flood of sorts to force them to bomb it in may work well for us. although that unfortunately might make our run back out a bit too limited.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

nicks could play on someone like hamill...at his beat he could beat him and free up barry to run off the backline. The main thing the swans need to do is not get caught up stopping stkilda..yes we have to stop them..but if we go out and use our key players and attack then they have to stop us, we need to win the game not just restrict stkilda.

Hamill would kill Nicks - he is a very powerful man and we need to put someone on him who can compete with him. I think Hamill is quite underrated in the St.Kilda team. Does not get the accolades of some of his teamates, but always works hard and creates a contest, and if given some latitude can be quite damaging.
