It sure has been a long three weeks for Schneider!

And an even longer 3 weeks for Schauble!

What is it with our bloody hamstrings and knock-on effects. I notice that Josh Fraser came back after about 4 weeks and is fine.

The Swans medical team is completely hopeless. I have never known a team have so many injuries that are so badly handled!

That was Scheinders second hamstring in a little over 8 weeks.

Would rather they give him a couple more weeks off the track to make sure he is over it, otherwise another one this year will mean we don't see him again until 2005.

Buckley came back after 4 (?) and is out for another month!

3 weeks should be 3 weeks. Schauble has been on 3 weeks for almost 3 months now!

This is a ludicrous comment. Are you a doctor? No? I didnt think so either. I'd rather .. as well as every coaching panel in the comp .. that we get people healed and ready to play "fit".

The medical staff inspect Schauble's hamstring and for all intents and purposes it is a 3 week injury, then over the week it doesn't progress but gets no worse.

So they expect it to recover over the next 3 week period and still nothing.

Do they assume it will continue not to respond and have a guess at a time frame?
Or do they continue to predict how long he will be back should he start improving?

I would suggest at all times the timeframes provided are based on the assumption that if it improves at the rate considered the norm he will be out for x weeks.

How can a doctor expect to know the exact date of a return for an injury from day one if at a point in the future the injury does not repond to treatment. That is why we you issue the norm and re assess on a weekly basis.

For Scheinder he has done it now twice in 8 weeks so obviously his hamstring is not functioning to the norm.

Everyone is having a go at the team's doctors because we are disappointed that there seems to be no progress in getting these two important players back into our side. It is bloody well aggrevating.

I reckon rest 'em until the Collingwood match - 3 and a bit weeks away. Hopefully they'll both be right by then. In the meantime, maybe Fixter can get a gig in the seniors.

fitness will be the only thing holding him back. He played well last week.

Tendonitis is an esoteric thing, and hard to predict, don't blame medicos for injuries which linger due to complications and scar tissue. Schneider, has to have maximum time out, such a young player will develop significant scar tissue which will mean repetitive injuries and a permanently weak hammy if this one is not allowed to heal. Josh Fraser only had a minor strain and was given the full four weeks for this reason. Buckley has evidently done his hammy ten times over his career so you look at how problematic the situation is with older players and hamstrings. Surely Heath James's situation convinces some that the medical staff can get it right. Maybe of bigger concern is that a few of the blokes who have done ACL's have done them under no significant pressure on the SCG, training and playing. The Telstra Stadium surface must also be a concern.
