    The arc

We had a 45m line thread a while ago that I couldn't dig up...

After having the 45m line for almost half a season, has anyone noticed that players are subconsciously treating it like the 50m line?

This should soon change ... more info shortly.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

I hope this is true as it does seem to have affected decision on taking set shots.

My understanding was that it was AFL edict tho, unlike them to change mid season. As is said hope they do tho

Given they train there how stupid are they? It should be an advantage for Swans players.

It is a fair point, but on purely anecdotal evidence (my opinion!) they seem to be looking to lay the ball off when around the 45m line more than if they took a mark 5/10m inside the 50.

Surely you would see the 45m line and add about 5m. Really, it isnt that hard, is it? THe only time I think it may fool a few players is when they are taking shots on the run.

            Great point

persoanlly I hadn't noticed more shots from the 50 (as I would expect to)
But then again, I haven't seen all that many games recently.

Yes, it should be a huge advantage for the Swans.

There will always be that subconscious thinking that the 50m line is there, but that should be much more prevalent in opposition players.

In face, more players should be able to kick a goal from the 45, so laying it off shouldn't really be considered unless there is a VERY clear player...

              Another snide quip, CTS!!!!

Dermie brought that up the other week, on one of the few games I've seen, that it seems to be a psychological line, they see it and still think 50.

I hope Ricuitto, doesn't play us there!! Damn Rnd 15.

                Merely stating a fact

Sadly, my dad is a Saints supporter, and has requested my company this weekend.

My best mate is also a Saints supporter, he's put up with many a jibe over the years but now he thinks the boots on the other foot.
What am I to do if we lose?

But that's the problem Ruckman, they've been so pathetic over the last few years, it hasn't been worthwhile doing any serious bagging!

I still think the Saints will find a way to unwind their season, in sensational style. They're experts at it.

Noticed how many Saints scarves you see out and about these days.

I suppose they haven't had much reason to wear their colors so good luck to 'em

Always liked the Sainters, but I of course would be wrapt with a Swans pumping

I just went out to buy my lunch and while waiting to cross the road, I spied on the other side, in the middle of Sydney!! a young guy wearing a Saints jacket.

We were giving each other menacing looks from the street. It was almost like high noon (or was all of that in my head?)

Was it really rude of me to give him the evil eye from the other side of the street?

Maybe it was Barry Hall - in disguise, since he knows you're the only witness to what happened.
