There usually aren't any the weekend before the season proper starts - at least inter-club matches. Clubs are free to do whatever they want in the way of intra-club practice matches as far as I'm aware.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

After the Carlton practice match, Roos said that Ball, Barry and Seymour, and any other player needing match time, will play for the reserves in their season opener against Tuggeranong on March 22.

But I think to do that they will need special permission from the Players' Association.

I don't remember exactly what he said this evening (coz I was talking to some people during it) but Luffy said a few of the guys played down at Monarch Oval today and came through OK.

Apparently Jason Ball, Leo Barry and Stephen Doyle played. Micky O did not.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....
