Sydney Swans forward, Nick Davis, remains a 50/50 prospect of playing against St Kilda on Sunday at the Sydney Cricket Ground after running on Friday.
Davis suffered a badly bruised ankle in last weekend?s victory over the Western Bulldogs and has spent the week on crutches.
After Friday?s training session coach Paul Roos said he didn?t expect Davis to play on Thursday, given he was still limping, but will now reassess his prospects on Saturday.
Despite the task of playing an undefeated side who have won their last two matches by over 100-points, Sydney defender Adam Goodes believes they can win.
?For sure (we can beat them),? the 2003 Brownlow Medalists said.
?The Saints have so many good players all over the ground and one that comes to mind is the Port Adelaide game (first qualifying final victory in Adelaide last year) and how well we shut every individual down on the ground.
?I think that is what we will need to do on the weekend if we are going to win.
?It?s a great challenge; this is what we play footy for.?
Roos will resist the temptation of taking chances for a win preferring to stick with Sydney?s usual game plan.
?We are probably a team which goes into most games looking to shut teams down,? Roos said.
?We are not a team that plays Russian roulette football and takes non-calculating risks, so really our game plan doesn?t change a lot week to week.
?We try to put things into place which makes us a good team and normally you just look at tweaking them game-to-game and from opposition to opposition.
?So in a sense, it is looking at doing a couple things a little bit different rather than completely changing the philosophy.?
When questioned on his likely match-ups, Roos acknowledged the growing injury list - including Andrew Schauble, Jason Saddington, Adam Schneider and Lewis Roberts-Thomson - ensure his options are limited.
?When I look at their team and I look at our team, I wouldn?t say we are limited, but in a sense we probably are so it means some are pretty obvious and just fall into place pretty quickly.
?Now whether they are right or whether they ultimately do the job will be determined on Sunday.?
