Hear hear. That would go down as one of the absolute best individual performances in recent Swans history - right up there with Goodes' effort against Port last year.

I can't believe that he managed to completely shut Gehrig out AND gain over twenty, quality possessions of his own. Absolutely sensational.

No one replied to my post a few days ago but does anyone think that we could have played that way at Stadium Australia?

            For my mind, no.

              Totally agree with you there.

What's quite disturbing I think is the fact that, that was our last home game on a Sunday this year.

The rest we have are Saturday night games....

I would have preferred at least one of those Saturday night matches to be scheduled as a Sunday day game - but I suppose you have to be satisfied with what you get instead.

                  SEN-BLOODY-SATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fantastic day - and to see Gehrig kept to 2 handballs - unbelievable! Leo Barry - words fail me to describe how well you
played - hope the ankle is OK.

It was really vocal in the MA Noble - wonderful atmoshpere.

And like Aussie Ange (and boy the girl was in very good form) I'm a little throaty (should take up career in 0055 phone calls!)

                    quote
"How is it possible that this is the same team that nearly went down to Hawthorn a couple of weeks ago?"

                    ----------------------------------------
We know there were mitigating circumstances for this narrow win... if we had kicked accurately we would have romped in...we traditionally have trouble matching it up with the hawks...and, one thing that many forget, we had just come back from Perth the previous week. This last point, to me is logically a nonsense, but seems to affect a lot of other teams in the league, and is an often-cited excuse for a poor performance the next week.
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Super Effort. No-body has made much mention of young Bevan?s contribution. This kid just gets better every week. Impressed with his cool under pressure & hard at it in contests. Seems to release the ball to the right team mate 9/10 times & runs like a rabbit when he gets in the clear. Havn?t seen replay, but think near end of Q2, we were chipping it around seemingly playing for the siren, then Bevo sticks the ball under his wing at half back and takes off ? end result GOAL.

Of course we would have. We dominated play all over the ground. We could have won at the dome.

There is no point being SCG specialists (as the eade teams found out). The granny is played at the MCG, so we need big ground game plans that work. Thats why I like the experience the stadium australia games give us.

Over at Saintsational they have decided that they lost because the ground was too small to let their team function properly.

It was strange to see that yesterday the Swans were straight down corridor most of the day while the Aints were wandering around the wings. I don't think the ground would made any difference yesterday - the only thing that was too small for them was the space between each Aint and his opposing Swan.

Surely you are not likening Stad aus to the MCG ?

Clearly, they are very different grounds both in dimension and atmosphere, so really dont understand what your point is ?

I thought the length was about the same. Just the that homebush was narrower on the wings (sort of squares up). So the only major impact on game plan is the "rebound" wing isnt as open as other grounds. But the forwards/backs have as much space.
