Then well done on the weekend Bam Bam. We moved over to the Brewongle this year, used to be between the Bradman and O'Reily. Am loving the atmosphere.

Does anyone know the story on the guy with white hair who gets up at the front and revs everyone up? Further around near the members stand. He wears an older style jersey and gets the Sydney chant going all the time.

That would be Peter Hatley aka the Human Billboard aka peterh_oz on this board. For more info on Peter's Swans dedication, see this thread: http://www.redandwhiteonline.com/for...&threadid=4746

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

It's a total joke, isn't it? So your obvious confusion as a newer supporter is definitely warrented.

The umps have certainly gone soft on holding the ball. As others have said, if a player get tackled and doesn't get rid of it, and HAS had prior opporttunity to do so, he should be pinged.

we see so much of this "held to", which of course results in a bounce. Obviously players like Leo Barry who take opposition players on and try and outdo them with pace use this to their advantage. There was one clear occasion where he was gone for all money, but wasn't pinged.

In the bad old days I once had a bemused SCG Trust staff member come up to me saying, "This game frustrates the hell out of me. Like why that a free kick!? I just can't seem to pick this game up at all."

My reply, "I wouldn't have the faintest idea why it was a free either."

He half-laughed, but I could see he was great troubled by all this, as he was genuinely trying his best to understand things.

PS:- On Sunday we had an awesome security guard behind us (nb: Anniswan). An expat Vic who knew the game backwards, she was telling us to start singing "Nah nah......hey hey goodbye!" at all the Saints fans leaving early. CULT!

That is Peter Hatley, who only called me 2 minutes ago.

We are heading across to Adelaide together in his car on Friday.

Look for the thread about his car trip to the Eagles game in Perth a few weeks ago. I hope to join him on one of the legs when we play the Dockers later this year.
