What drugs is the afl website on?

Is this some type of joke??

    ========================================
Coach of the week Denis Pagan ? Carlton
Has there ever been a better coach at getting his team ?up? after a big loss than the former Kangaroos and now Carlton coach?

Back in round seven nobody gave Carlton a chance of beating Collingwood, after they had come into the match on the back of a 105-point loss to Melbourne, but the Blues came from 27 points down in the final quarter to win that game by nine points.

They were given even less chance on Saturday against what appeared to be a revitalised Adelaide at AAMI Stadium and coming off a 108-point loss to St Kilda last week.

But after again trailing by more than four goals at the last change, the Blues rallied to win by four points and with matches against struggling Hawthorn and Richmond to come in the next fortnight ? suddenly the club which has endured the worst two years in its history is even an outside chance for the top eight this season.

And while on Pagan?s coaching, who is to say his shock and hugely criticised decision to play spearhead Brendan Fevola at full-back last week ? where he was humiliated by St Kilda?s Fraser Gehrig ? was not a contributing factor to his stunning return to form against the Crows, which saw him kick seven goals including the winning goal from 50 metres out on the boundary line with just two minutes to play.

That is a mistake, It should read "Coach of the Fortnight" as he can only coach them every two weeks. Every other week they get their little blue arses spanked.

The fact that Roos outcoached the current contender for "Coach of the Year" obviously doesn't have any bearing, coz he doesn't let his team get smacked at all.

Carlton's win in Adelaide has less to do with the coach than a player called Fevola, who kicked four goals in the last quarter. Beating Adelaide is nothing newsworthy because 7 sides have already beaten Adelaide this year.

I was about to start a thread on that rubbish as well. Beating Adelaide is no achievement worthy of coach of the week when Paul Roos has just masterminded the first defeat of St Kilda in 14 matches.

The article also gave no credit to the Swans for beating St Kilda, instead blaming the loss on the assumption the Saints were tired.

This pro-Victorian bias is getting quite predictable and boring.

Do you know nothing? Typical verdhelo spritzer-sipping Sydneysider. The Swans won yesterday because of their favorable salary cap treatment.

Brisbane didn't beat St Kilda. Oh, wait, it must be the extra 5% that Sydney get that made the difference

To be fair, Carlton's performance was significant. Remember that they got absolutely belted last week and managed to turn it around, in an interstate game, against a team that itself had a hefty victory the previous week.

In comparison, the Swans were at home and already on a winning streak. What's more, the Swans have a far more talented (IMHO) and even squad than the Blues, and one that has been playing together for the last few years, rather than cobbled together at the end of last year.

All that happened on Sunday afternoon was that our faith in the ability of our boys to play was reaffirmed. Many of us (and even some media pundits) fully believed we were going to win. I doubt many would have picked the Blues to win in Adelaide.

WAs going to post something saying that I agreed with the Carlton analysis on the AFL website, but didn't quite know how to put it - thanks Liz for saying what I wanted to in a clear and concise manner!

the main point we're not taking into account is, Sydney didn't play well, the Saints played poorly.

The longer the rest of the footy community keeps thinking like that, the better. as far as I'm concerned.

what if its true?!?! what if our boys are really not that good and St Kilda are really just fatigued this week? All this optimism that I have been feeding myself has just come out in a bad fit of diarhea! Oh no, I think the Melbourne media are really on to something here; they got it spot on last year.

Who said anything about playing well - I'm talking about the coaching and what Roos did was brilliant.

Showed Thomas up for the muppet he is.

When the Swans are on they are awsome. I just hope we can play 3 0r more quarters of footy, on a more regular basis, like 3-6 weeks in a row, instead of the usual 1-2
