Credit where it?s due, but not on the couch.

Healy tried to pump us up a bit, but Sheehan & Walls, yes the Swans were good, but, but, but, Saints were ripe for a loss, they were flat, Gherig was carrying an injury etc etc etc. By the time they had finished you would have thought that the East Ringwood reserves would have beaten the Sainters.

Gee when we have a super win like that one looks forward to these shows, instead I end up feeling like chucking a brick at the bloody tube. Maybe Wells is not so bad after all ? at least he gave us some credit in the tele today.

At least it's not just us - Walls still refuses to recognise how well the Sleepy Hollow mob are going.

What do you expect from Sheehan? If you've read his crap in the past, you would know hes anti-Sydney, much like the rest of them. We shouldnt expect them to give credit where its due until we win a premiership. It was a great win, no doubt about it, but to them, we can screw it all up by playing like we did against Richmond. We all know those four digits when the last flag was won, so dont expect any respect from the media until we win another.

Last year's Channel Ten intro to the prelim, where they had the names of all the journos tipping us for the spoon, will have been forgotten by everyone except us because ultimately we failed. Please, premiership before I die so we can collectively stick it up all of them.

i don't really expect much else.

we can't comfort ourselves with a single win. while i believe we are a quality side and that was a quality win, but until we put together a string of strong performances that result in wins (saints, port, pies are a good shot) we can't expect anything other than qualified assessments.

the saints were flat and gherig had a broken toe. we would have beaten anyone with that performance, but it can't be our laurels for the rest of the season.

Agree with much of this but fairer to say the Aints were flattened. Because the Swans can do such a good job of shutting down an opposition, we often just make them look flat, rather than make us look good. If you look back, that's what the commentators were saying during the Port final "Port just doesn't look the same team today" - just like the Aints on Sunday.

Yes it was a great win. But you're right that we need to show that it is part of a pattern by beating Port (big ask with no ruckman?) then Pies, Blues and Crows. All do-able.

On the other hand, wouldn't it be interesting if the Aints lost to the Dogs - or even merely battled to win? A week ago that was unimaginable but after watching the way they walked off the SCG on Sunday . . .

i was wondering if it might take the wind out of their sails completely and this happen, showing them to be complete frontrunners. i have a sneaking suspicion that the saints will absolutely murder the doggies though.
