    No revenge factor: Tredrea

Warren Tredrea, Port Adelaide's acting captain, says what's happened has happened, so there is no revenge factor involved in the Power's challenge to beat Sydney at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.

The Swans wounded Port's finals campaign last season by being shock two-goal winners of the first qualifying final at AAMI Stadium before the Power, the minor premier, eclipsed Essendon by 39 points in the first semi-final at AAMI Stadium and lost to Collingwood by 44 points in the second preliminary final at the MCG.

When asked on Monday whether the loss to Sydney still hurt, Tredrea said: "I think anything that's happened in the past has happened. Our finals campaigns have been disappointing the last couple of years. There's nothing we can do about that.

"We can only move forward this week. What better task of taking on Sydney here after they've beaten the side that's been the frontrunner this year?"

The Swans skittled previously unbeaten St Kilda by six goals at the SCG last Sunday, and their 6-4 record against Port includes 3-2 at AAMI Stadium.

Sydney's Adam Goodes was best afield against Port in last year's first qualifying final and Barry Hall kicked six goals.

When Hall's name was mentioned to Tredrea, he said: "The way Darryl Wakelin's played the last couple of rounds has been sensational for us. I think he did a great job in the last half on (Jonathan) Brown (at the Gabba on Saturday night) and I expect him to do the same this week."

Leo Barry, Tredrea's likely opponent this week, faces a fitness test on an injured ankle to determine whether he plays.

Tredrea said of speedy left-footer Barry: "He's played in a different role this year. I'd expect to get him if he does come up. But there's also Goodes, who has been playing well in defence, too.

"Barry's played more as a running half-back flanker in the last couple of years but he seems to be relishing the big jobs. I hope he comes up, I hope I get to play against him.

"It's just a challenge every week. I played on (Justin) Leppitsch last week and he's a similar-type player so, if there's anything, there's a bit of form on playing on those guys compared with those who just shut down and are straight-out negative."

Tredrea said Port had played 'some good stuff, some pretty ordinary stuff' against the Lions, and the players were disappointed with their many turnovers.

"You can go to Brisbane sometimes and think you're probably not in the game, but I felt throughout the whole game we were within grasp," he said. "But we just couldn't take our opportunities at the right time to win it.

"Every time we play Brisbane we're very confident. We match up well against them and we've had some good wins. Look back to last year - we won by a point under trying circumstances, with injuries as well. So next time we play them we can go back to the record books and see what happened, but we have to move on this week against Sydney."

Pressed on how good he thought the Lions were, Tredrea said: "Six goals better than us at the weekend. They've won the last three premierships. As to what happens this year, who knows? But we'd definitely back ourselves next time we played against them - to turn things around."
