Even with current injuries we match up well with last years Final side

(Presuming Ball and Barry out, and Davis in). Both Saddo and Ball were missing last year, as was Mick, so having him back is a big plus. The big losses are Barry and Schauble, particularly Barry, however Goodes reinvention as a key defender helps plug some gaps. We can cover most of our losses from last year but not Barry.

    Out
    Leo Barry (inj)
    Lewis Roberts-Thomson (inj)
    Andrew Schauble (inj)
    Adam Schneider (inj)
    Daryn Cresswell (ret)
    Brad Seymour (delisted)
    Scott Stevens (traded)

    In IMO
    Amon Buchanan (Schneider)
    Heath James (Schauble)
    Jarrad McVeigh (Cresswell)
    Paul Bevan (Seymour)
    Ryan O'Keefe (Stevens)
    James Micklejohn (LRT)
    Michael O'Loughlin (????Barry???)

Port will be very very similar to the side we met last year. For Port I have made the following assumptions. Peter Burgoyne returns from suspension and I've assumed Adam Kingsley will come back in. (I assume Salopek and Mahoney will be omitted) I also assume that Chad Cornes will play and Stuart Cochrane will escape the tribunal.

If the above occurs, the only two forced changes from their side from last year will be Montgomery and Carr.

    Out
    Josh Carr (in)
    Brent Guerra (St K)
    Brett Montgomery (inj)
    Stephen Paxman (delisted)
    Nick Stevens (Carl)

    In
    Domenic Cassisi
    Brett Ebert
    Roger James
    Jared Poulton
    Toby Thurstans

The lengths that Jason Ball will go to to get out of every trip to Adelaide. Has he got something against pigeons on the playing field?

      Good analysis Bart.

From a quick glance we are probably better placed relative to last year than Port.

The ruck will be a problem for us because Goodes was great in the ruck last year, however it's more his around the ground the work that helps so his CHB role will still be critical.

The loss of Schauble is probably one of the most important differences.

Not sure what this comment is referring to but I remember a game a few years ago where Ball kicked 5 goals at full forward to beat the Crows at Football Park.

Last year Jason Ball was injured just before the Port game. This year we have the Port game coming up and bang, he's gone again. And no I don't really think he did his hammy to avoid the City of Churches.

              is leaping definitely out?

it should be an interesting game since port play a similar short passing, high posession game.

That man would have his leg amputated at the knee to ensure he can get a start he is that committed to this team. Its so good to see blokes like him, B1, B2, Bevo etc throwing their bodies into the unknown for the team then getting back up and doinit again. Best example is Captain Kirk bouncin up and lookin for the footy after a Byron Pickett freight train collected him. Show that a few hundred times to the lads to get em fired up for this one!

Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

B2 was just as inspirational after two hard hits on the weekend and a minute later was right in the thick of it again.

Convince Gehrig. Av 5 goals; vs Leo 0 goals = 30 points.

This is one of the reasons I found it so goddam hard to award my third vote in the TLM... There were just so many that the third -- and even the 2nd could go to. B2 was absolutely sensational, being knocked from pillar to post, yet still diving on the ball -- and stitching up his opponent...
Roosie shd put an inspirational video together to show the players of Kirk's, B1's, Crouchie's, Leo's...dammit, all of em's...application to the ball last Sunday and the Port finals game last season... But hey, I reckon they all know what each other does anyway....
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Yeah but he isn't needed as much against the Power, they have one tall forward in Tredrea (much like us) and either Goodes or Bolton would take him.

                              are you serious?

lade tears us a new hole every time we play them... he is much like how alessio was, in that, he stands up against us EVERY time! he is a major worry

then there is thurstans and shaun burgoyne - both demanding a consumate defender... no walk in the park concerning their talls thats for sure

im suspecting that dew will be moved on to okeefe as dew has been playing a bit on the HBF, so we dont have to worry about him forward
