    Sportal

Swans skipper Stuart Maxfield and field umpire Brett Allen will qualify for automatic life membership of the AFL when they take part in their 300th official match on the weekend.

At AAMI Stadium on Sunday, Maxfield will rack up his 300th appearance, which includes 271 premiership matches, 26 pre-season matches and two international matches.

Allen, since his debut, has umpired 263 matches, 30-pre-season matches, two state of origin matches and four international matches.

Geelong forward Peter Riccardi will play his 250th match for the Cats and will become the sixth player in the history of the club to reach that milestone, joining Ian Nankervis (325 games), John Newman (300 games), Garry Hocking (274 games), Paul Couch (259 games) and Bruce Nankervis (253 games).

    Other round 12 milestones include:

200 games: Jason Akermanis (Brisbane Lions)
    150 games: Lance Whitnall (Carlton)
100 games: Tim Notting (Brisbane Lions)
    100 games umpired: Justin Schmitt
    50 games: Brett Johnson (Carlton)
    50 games: Nick Ries (Hawthorn)
150 club games: Chris Johnson (Brisbane Lions)

I would think that the other games are only counted in this particular milestone, for the 300 criteria for AFL life membership.

If he plays next season, which he should, he will get the real magic 300 mark
